Re: n00bz - Round 7
Ok, so n00b 7 is Scurra, and here's round 7.
Battleships
The attached grid shows an area of sea, in which there are five ships: four cruisers (1 square) and one battleship (2 adjacent squares). The ships are not in contact horizontally or vertically (but can touch diagonally), and the two parts of the battleship are in the same row or column.
n00b 7 Scurra will place the ships in the grid, and the other six n00bz must try to sink the fleet. A cruiser sinks if it is hit, but the battleship is only sunk if both parts are hit. Each n00b has six missiles with which to do this.
Send me your grid references.
Scoring
n00bz 1-6 get 1 point for each ship or part of a ship they hit.
If the battleship is sunk, every n00b who hit it gets 2 bonus points per part hit.
If all six of a n00b's missiles miss, then that n00b loses 6 points.
n00b 7 Scurra gets 3 points for each ship or part of a ship not hit by any missiles.

There is a vacancy for n00b 8.
As the next round could be deadly, n00b 8 will be automatically given 5 points before the game.

Re: n00bz - Round 8
Welcome, Laura, you are n00b 8, and you may not hang on to your 5 points for long...
Here's Round 8.
Push The Button
Do you feel a tingle? That's because I've wired up the eight n00bz to the following electric buttons:
Red: Orange: Yellow: Green: Blue: Purple: Brown: Grey
- though I'm not saying which n00b is attached to which button. When a button is pressed, the relevant n00b is fried by 1000 volts. However, I've had to bodge the wiring a bit, and if two people press each other's buttons, then a short circuit will occur and neither will be fried, even if someone else presses either of the buttons.
Just send me the colour of the button you wish to press.
Scoring:
You survive by nobody pressing your button: +5 points
You survive due to a short-circuit happening: +3points
You are fried by pressing your own button: -5 points
You are fried by someone else pressing your button: -3 points
If any of n00bz 1-7 press n00b 8 Laura's button, they will receive 5 bonus points.

Re: n00bz - Round 8
Results for round 8:
Bzzzzzt!
Now that the buttons have been pressed, let's see what's happened...
First, here is the list of who would be fried by pressing each button:
Red - fernando: Orange - Scurra: Yellow - Bunnylump: Green - Laura: Blue - kathlyn: Purple - Looby: Brown - LAT: Grey - kingsley.
The following buttons were pushed:
Yellow, by Bunnylump
Green, by Scurra and Laura
Blue, by LAT and kathlyn
Purple, by fernando, Looby and kingsley.
So Bunnylump, Laura, kathlyn and Looby were fried by pushing their own buttons and lose 5 points.
Scurra, LAT, fernando and kingsley all survive and get 5 points.
Scurra gets 5 bonus points for pushing the Green button.
Current score:
LAT 52
Bunnylump 49
fernando 34
kathlyn 21
Looby 17
Scurra 16
kingsley 10
Laura 0

Re: n00bz - round 9
n00b 9 is MBH: welcome to the game.
Here's round 9:
Goat Game
The opposite to a Sheep Game: you have to try and think of something which nobody else thinks of.
I require a list containing one example of each of the following:
1) A Shakespearian character beginning with T
2) A writer whose surname begins with B
3) A drink beginning with C
4) A town or city in the UK beginning with L
5) A country beginning with A
6) An animal (mammal, amphibian or reptile) beginning with R
7) Something to eat beginning with S
8) A bird beginning with P
9) A girl's name beginning with J
Scoring:
2 points for each Goat word (an item on nobody else's list)
-2 points for each Sheep word (an item on the lists of another n00b) (Does not apply to n00b 9 MBH)
+9 bonus points for a full Goat list (all your words are Goats)
-9 penalty points for a full Sheep list (all your words are Sheep)(Does not apply to n00b 9 MBH)

May I just check that they all have to be valid answers as well?
Given that we need to find unique answers, making things up would seem like the obvious approach

I have adjusted No. 6 as I have received an entry with a bird for that category.
Yes, it is an animal, but I was thinking more of mammals, reptiles or amphibians, not birds or fish.
