Oooh, a lovely festive red leg? Glad it's mending well, but it must be a pain, especially at this time of year!

I've finished work. YIPPEEEEEEE! Got totally wasted (along with most of the rest of the teaching staff) last night at the Noke Thistle Hotel. But we had lots of fun. :D

Wow - another Diggy fan! How about that, Eirian and Strep? Is there anybody else out there who has discovered this wonderful game of strategy and fun? If so, then can we link up on faceboook?

I tried it for a while and couldn't see the attraction! Everyone to their own, I suppose. :D

I've never heard of it. I'll have to have a look.

It has little puzzles every so often. I'm not sure what the attraction is, but it beats the sock game hands down!

...Out for big family get together in Brentwood. Had a nice lunch and catch up with everyone. On our way home we got the most incredible view of a spectacular sunset, with the Shard glistening in the distance. Wish I'd had my camera with me!

Did you ever feel like you were having one of those days?

Have hurt my wrist when lifting my elderly neighbour where she'd fallen in her room.

Ordered a massive Waitrose online shop, which should have turned up at 4 o clock, still not here. Waitrose have just rung (7 40pm) to say that the whole company had a massive system failure this morning so they are still working on it. We have nothing to eat.

Tried to start making Christmas fayre. Blasted electric hand whisk burned out half way through making a pavlova. :x I'm half way through making three dishes, all of which require whisking. Helpful with a dodgy wrist.

However, my neighbour's daughter has just dropped round a lovely bunch of flowers, so that's a nice end to an irritating day. Oh, and I got my copy of Fraggle's book delivered and it looks fab. :D

Father Christmas seems to have traded his reindeer in for snowmobiles!

(We think my nephew is 3rd elf from the left, but it is hard to tell behind the insulating facial fur)

 :o Is it my imagination or are there people on that photo in their SHIRT SLEEVES?

P.S. Update on the Waitrose delivery. It finally came, and they'd added in £16 worth of fresh rainbow trout and an extra bottle of wine. I shall have to hope they are late again next time.

Yes the lady towards the left is in a summer dress, but then it is midsummer!

Nice pic. When is your nephew due home again?

And I'm almost tempted to order a delivery from Waitrose myself in the hope it gets delayed.

I think he leaves Antarctica at the end of February, and then comes home via the Falkland Islands and a few other places. He might be home in April. I'm not sure how long the boat takes and where they fly from. Going out it was a six week voyage from South Africa. I think he wants to see some places on the way home, so may not come by the shortest route.

If Waitrose gave me trout I would tell them where to stick it!

Luckily for me, it's my favourite fish. :D

I just can't believe how many things we've ended up with from that company. Not the first time we've ended up with extra stuff!

I had my entire weeks shopping free from Asda one time when their tills crashed. They brought out those old fashioned credit card machines, and the young girl on my till had to be told what it was. (The ones that take a brass rubbing of your card) They added the shopping up by guesswork and calculator, and then did the card swipey thing, but the impression of my card was very poor quality and I think it must have been illegible because it never appeared on my bank statement.

Another time when their tills crashed at a different Asda they just looked at the shopping and guessed a total, and I worked out afterwards that they had underestimated by about 50%. I suppose it is more harmful to their business to keep everyone waiting at the tills for ages that to just give the shopping away.

Although I did get told off, I hadn't realised that I'd spilt some icing sugar down the top of the washing machine controls. D just tried to use it and the buttons were all glued together!
