The Wanted Thread

#1 Post by gill216 » Sun Dec 28, 2008 6:10 pm

See if my want is as successful as my sale :D

I'm looking for a teach yourself Spanish course. It doesn't have to be basic. I need to brush up and add to rather than start from scratch. Anybody out there got one festering anywhere?

Hmm... now, just may be - not sure where it will be found if it is to see the light of day again. Might be in storage. I'll let you know if I come across it in hunting.

Glad the chillow worked, mine is warmer than the house at the moment.

I didn't really appreciate my ipod until I found podcasts, you can learn and laugh so much, but it isn't helping with the fish, perhaps I miss read it and it said "Happy Birthday Bunny, hot cherub and she who can't be thwarted" forgot you were a perfect Pisces like the bunny and myself

I'm not a "perfect" Pisces Strep. I was born on the cusp of Aries and my rising sign is Aries so I'm more fire than water. Very true at the moment :D

You're talking gibberish  I've had to go onto the website mentioned in the magazine to identify which picture is which. I mistook a ram for a goat and couldn't identify some of the others.

Take it you don't do astrology :D

Aries is a fire sign, pisces is water. A chillow is a chilly pillow and Strep and I are suffering from night heat due to our not so recent operations. Does that help?

The cusp is 3 days either side of the given date for the start or end of one astrological sign to the other .

Though it doesn't really have an effect. If you have the sun at 29 59 59 Pisces, you're a sun-sign Pisces. But if you have it one second of arc later at 00 00 00 Aries, you're a sun-sign Aries. The 'cusp' is the razor-edge dividing line between signs, so you are either one or the other. To be a Pisces-Aries cusp you would have to be born at the exact second that the Sun changed signs.

Those born in the days either side of the cusp may have a slight influence from the adjacent sign, but it's such a weak influence that other factors - like the Moon, Ascendant, or Mercury - probably swamp it.

The problem is that the Sun doesn't change signs at the same time each year. It drifts slightly and leap years affect it as well. That's why the dates given in the 'Your Stars' columns tend to vary.

The Ascendant is the 'Outer Image' you project on the world. Perhaps you come across as forthright, direct and a little selfish, but that is your Aries Ascendant and not your Pisces Sun.

(Fortuna told me this, so blame her if you don't like it)

And how did it get into a quote within a quote? The mind boggles!

Hmm. In a certain film script I know of, some of the characters have been linked to the Zodiac signs, and one called Gad is a Piscean... ;)
