Guess the film
OK folks, I've been trying to think of a new game for us to play. How do you fancy trying this?
The idea is to post either a cryptic or Dingbat style clue which leads to a well known film. (If we like this and we run out of films we could move onto other subjects). When someone gets the answer, it's their turn to make one up (or nominate someone else to make one up if they can't and someone else is keen)!!
I'll start you off with...

Hmmm. Gobsmacked silence. I think I made that one too hard...

OK I'll leave it there for another day and then make an easier one if no-one gets it!

Gobsmacked silence is about right. I'm not ignoring it, just feeling incapable.

It's a film (Yes!)...... after a different conversation I'm tempted to say:

Did it star Mel Gibson?

Missed this thread - I concur with SparkOut though.
This is the sort of game that would work well as a "shared login" (kind of like the "riddler" account that we had over at DVP) where the password to the account is the answer to the puzzle, so that you don't need the original poster to be around to confirm the answer (sometimes a drawback with these sorts of things.)

Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

Yes, indeed it did -well done. Would you like to tell the other mystified souls what the answer was, SparkOut?SparkOut wrote:Did it star Mel Gibson?
Oh yes, and I could do one of those login things, Scurra, but is that ok just to register it under my name or what?

aah, got it now.
Re: Guess the film
It was Braveheart (RAV being the "heart" of bRAVe).
But as LAT was the first one to admit to having "got it" then I think she has to set the next one.

[quote="SparkOut"]OK...
Scurra is banned from this one. He knows why.
Why? Because he's a monster and therefore has insider knowledge??
Good clue, S/O.
Cenwulf, I'm thinking. Can you hear the whirrings and clankings from there?

Re: Guess the film
Because while tackling "movie" puzzles in various hunts, I've often bemoaned to Scurra about my lack of knowledge of films - citing Monsters Inc as [paraphrasing] "one of very few I've seen in the last 10 years, having taken pumpkin to see it" [/paraphrasing]. I was once later amused that Monsters Inc was the answer in a puzzle that Scurra had set elsewhere.Bunnylump wrote:SparkOut wrote:OK...

Honestly, not counting children's films, the last one I saw at the cinema was Harry Potter (and the Philosopher's Stone). The one before that was Jurassic Park!
