I have been down in Kent to see Monkey for his birthday and dad to... see him. Back to wok now. I'll sneak a few looks soon, I hope.
LAT & I have made a good stab at identifying some of the pictures. We have a pretty good idea of the theme, I think. Not really a clue yet about the coloured border tiles.

OK so it seems that some little markers I made on the picture are really hard to see. So here is some enumeration which may help.

The letter count helped a lot, as did a little crossword dictionary I have which lists words by subject matter and then by length.

Oh, and a helpful page on Wikipedia

I do realise that most people haven't even had a chance to look at the last puzzle yet - but I won't be here to post the October puzzle at the end of the month. So I'm putting it here early this time. Sorry about that!

So is anyone looking at this? I have identified quite a few of the people but still have lots of gaps. Would love to discuss/trade answers!

I really enjoyed this one. Google image search helped a lot! But when the penny dropped about the next stage I was very happy! :D

N.B Don't miss the second part of the puzzle - the sound links.

Initial hint: No city is needed for this puzzle.

Hi Paula, maybe try the one with all the wine? (March, if I remember correctly!) Happy to give major shove if needed!

Please note that for some unknown reason I can only get on here on my phone using mobile data ( can't use laptop or WiFi but literally ONLY on this site!) IOW I won't be here as often as I would like. So if I haven't replied you could always send me a message on Messenger instead. X
