I now have a mental image of a cherub in her pyjamas with chocolate all over her face, and chocolaty finger prints all over the new curtains!

It aught (ought?) to be taught in school that no big project should be attempted without a large supply of whatever you need to get you through it. In the case of the curtains, it would appear to be chocolate. In my case it's tea.

I need to take my lounge curtains down and let some fabric into the top (behind the pelmet rail) because the blasted ceiling isn't level. I spent ages getting the curtains level, but the rail is attached to the ceiling of the bay, which is all over the place. :(

Here's a good tip I was given years ago re making curtains. Do the top and sides and hang them. Pin the bottoms up with loads of pins, and take the ironing board and iron to the curtains , crease the bottom, check the level and instead of stitching the bottoms do them with wundaweb. Works every time but any adjustments are easily made.

I'm going to adjust mine from the top, because I want the same amout of pattern all the way across the bottom. The windowsill is level, it it the top there is a problem with. I'm just going to have to measure the drop every couple of inches!
I'm waiting until I have a couple of days absolutely free and plenty of patience, because I think it will be a pain in the a**e.

I made new curtains for the lounge three years ago and then we had new windows and suddenly the curtains were a bit short, evrytime I washed them they seemed to get a little shorter and I had assumed they had shrunk and the window people had dropped the sill a bit, till OH told me today he had pt the curtain rail higher after the windows were done and they had shrunk a tad. Lack of communication or what.

Recycling them into son's room now, but won't be cutting them tonight having had two whiskeys to celebrate finishing the meta, i am liable to do some serios damage.

Happy Easter all.

Today I've mostly bin.... out for day with 3 old schoolfriends and assorted husbands and children. A local stately home opened its grounds free for the day and the weather was glorious. Children ages 14, 13, 12, 10, 9, 7, 5, 2 all enjoyed big adventure playground (plenty for all ages) and miniture railway ride! Then back here for chat and tea. First time in several years we've all managed to be in the same place at the same time.

Top tip for lounge curtains.

Don't spend £450 on luvverly heavy weight embroided curtains for a 4 panel bay window and then adopt 3 kittens. I'm sure you can all imagine the devastation which has ensued over the last few weeks.

Kind of not funny really. But I suppose I can't blame the cats. Hmmm.

Cheers. BB.

 Been there, I can tell you. They love climbing Christmas trees too.
My curtain disaster was purchasing 30 metres of material for our living room (it has a bay window, 2 side windows and french doors) having only seen a swatch which was 50mm wide. The fabric turned up and we both said "did we REALLY choose bright orangey yellow? Yes. We did. I'm kind of used to it now, but it does require sunglasses. 8-)

I have second hand ones from OH's parents that needed completely remaking, but have enough for cushion covers as well. Just taken down, bright orangy yellow ones (must be a Pisces thing), two are off to son's room as this is his favorite colour and 2 are to be truned into more cushion covers.

so today I will mostly be sewing again.

bin.... moving the computer into its new (but still temporary) home, to clear space for the nursery.
In the process, we decided to change our BT Home Hub, as the old one had been losing signal regularly and causing problems (or at least we assume it was the hub). I've therefore had to get my laptop to recognise the new hub.
Curiously, I've two little symbols on my tool bar next to the clock which tell me when there are any problems with the network. One, a little image of a laptop, tells me that my modem is working fine and is connected to the hub. The other, a little monitor, has a x next to it indicating it isn't connected. When I go into 'view available wireless networks' it lists our new hub, with a 'not connected' note above it. But when I click on it, it tells me I'm connected to it! Go figure....

Of course, it does keep catching up with itself and losing the connection totally, at which point I have to go in and tell it to reconnect. Which it does quickly, again without realising it... Am really confused!

Wireless. Don't you just love it! Will have to work out how to get both bits to recognise the connection before I try to do anything more than just checking forums though... Don't want it to drop connection in the middle of playing a game!

I hate computers and I really really hate stupid wireless internet connections which don't work properly (like mine). I keep getting thrown off. Well either that or Scurra is throwing me off. (I'm sure he'd like to).

OO er that was a bit big. How do I make it smaller please? Anyway, my favourite one was the "chav" egg which David made, complete with bling and a Burberry hat. :D

You have to 'compress' the picture. I did so using Microsoft Picture Manager, to reduce the size of my pic of the Star Wars playing cards.

We never had this problem on the DVP site - it seemed to compress pictures automatically.
