banking crisis
I've just read that uncertainty has now hit the Japanese banking sector.
In the last 7 days Origami Bank has folded.
Sumo Bank has gone belly up.
Bonsai Bank has announced plans to cut some of its branches.
Yesterday, it was announched that Karaoke Bank is up for sale and will likely go fo a song, while today shares in Kamikaze Bank were suspended after they nose-dived.
Samurai Bank is soldiering on following sharp cutbacks.
Ninja Bank is reported to have taken a hit, but they remain in the black.
Furthermore, 500 staff at Karate Bank got the chop and analysts report that there is something fishy going on at the Sushi Bank where it is feared that staff may get a raw deal

Perseverance: - the courage to ignore the obvious wisdom and carry on anyway
Re: banking crisis
Meanwhile, I understand that in China
the Tai Chi Bank is calm and unruffled,
the Feng Shui Bank has been forced to relocate its headquarters,
the Ming Bank has gone bust,
and the Confucian Bank remains philosophical about the future...

Re: banking crisis
Alfy Joey did it on Radio Newcastle in an excellent "Two Ronnies - and here's the news" style of presentation.
Re: banking crisis
But of course we know we all read it here first

Re: banking crisis
That would be because I did actually write that bit myself (which is why it isn't as funny )kathlyn wrote:but he didn't have the extra bit that was posted by Scurra.
(Not that I'm making any comments about the origins of other posts, you understand )

Re: banking crisis
Thanks for that -- as there seems to be no one actually claiming full credit I will put it out on my programme on Salford City Radio - but with, of course, a comment about where I saw it!

Re: banking crisis
I was quite pleased to be able to recycle a joke the other day that I first used twenty years ago. The original version went:
I was walking past a newspaper placard that said "Thailand goes bust" and I thought "That's odd - they were open next door to Sock Shop this morning."

Well, the last time there was a crash this bad in Iceland, it completely blocked aisle three for four hours.kathlyn wrote:apparently Iceland is now on sale on Ebay -starting price is 99pence with no reserves
