You know I would be terrified of being too critical of anyone on this forum --- not sure who is what to who!
(Or are you all related - apart from me that is?)

And on this ages of offspring - my daughter was born in 1960, Grandson born in 1989.

And going back to the topic I read just about everything by Leslie Charteris (The saint) whilst at school and found they did wonders for my vocabulary.

And - I enjoyed the early Discworld novels when they were just jokey much more than the current 'socially aware' trend.

Yes, Scurra is my Dad. Didn't you know that?

Well, I'm not really related to anyone on here. My dad is registered (Nethy), but he doesn't post on the forum. He just solves anything that requires general knowledge, or cryptic clues solving! (He does have his uses!!!!)

I hope that Scurra never forgets your birthday or Christmas Bunny!

Yes, I'll have to speak to him about that.

Seriously though, no I'm not related to anyone, and I've only ever met two of you in "real life" (and very nice you were too).

No, you look lovely. And about half my width! (I'd make a damned good meal for your average cannibal).

But Bunny, you protest too much! I grant that you were rather taller than the third member of our party, (but that is hardly difficult) but you are certainly not double my width, or double anybody's width for that matter. Do cannibals like purple rabbits?

Well at least being a head on a stick gets me out of that fate.
Although I'm sure someone-who-shall-remain-nameless has been planning at least half-a-dozen others...

I'm not sure. I generally try to avoid them...

If I eat all these Easter eggs I'll probably be able to feed a whole tribe of cannibals.

Well, OBVIOUSLY apart from my favourite long lost twin metal ox! But that goes without saying. :D

The Man With the Golden Torc by Simon R. Green - a 'hero' that protects the world from supernatural, alien, and extra-dimentional baddies. VERY tongue in cheek Bond-ified fun

This has had me laughing out loud on a few occasions, and the fast paced story rolls along nicely. It's only when I've looked at a review (to snip the title & author since I haven't got the book in front of me) that I noticed the same author wrote Nightside which I started at work and never took out or the library to finish.

His stories seem to take place in London - so it's nice to know the environment they are ripping to pieces in their battles :D

Have you read Blue Moon Rising? (which is one of my all-time favourite fantasy novels.) He followed it with a whole series of fantasy-based cop stories - it's fun having a locked-room mystery when someone can just teleport out of a building!

I didn't much care for Nightside or the Deathstalker books though (made it half-way through the second one and gave up.)

No Scurra - that's a new one on me. I'll have a dive into the library computer when I get back to the office :)
