What was great was that I was trying to take a photo through the fence when someone came out and offered to open the locked gate so I could get close to take a better pic! I tried to tell her in my broken French that I had a friend who called himself the jester!

Mostly bin driving. Again.
Arrived at Care home where dad is in rehab after finally getting moved from hospital. Quick visit tonight.
Tomorrow funeral (one of the Screwballers) and Wednesday back up home

Gosh, you certainly do clock up the miles! We had yet another funeral on Friday too.

I spent yesterday sploshing about in the river Chess. It's a chalk stream that has been having significant environmental work done on it. It's obviously paying off as there were masses of brown trout and a newt! We also saw four crayfish claws, which we are hoping is a sign that there are otters!

Gosh, otters would be exciting!

Yes, me too. He certainly must be relieved to be out of hospital!

It's only rehab after replacing his hip replacement, but given his congestive heart failure, pulmonary embolism (s), norovirus and chest/throat infection, we are waiting for evaluation of targets for when he's likely to get home

Poor chap. It's rotten to have all that to contend with.

Oh, poor dad! Hope they look after him well and he's soon fitter than ever!

Hope your Dad is feeling a bit more settled for the time being, away from the pressures in hospital. But it must all be very stressful.

Seeing the various members of the family off back home after spending a couple of weeks enjoying the sunshine in glorious Devon. That accounts for my recent silence as I have not had access to my computer....
Otherwise i would have posted that last Thursday we celebrated our Diamond Wedding! Yes - we made it to 60 years Unbelievable!!!! So that is another reason the family joined us to mark the occasion. Sorry I don't have a decent picture to prove it.
