Wondering how to share my news, as I mentioned in my last message as "more information"... :?
The main reason that I am no longer active in puzzle-solving on the Forum is that I have been struggling with a diagnosis of breast cancer, which started to develop about a year ago. I had a previous occurrence just over 5 years ago, but that was successfully treated with an operation and I quickly recovered from it. But when it reappeared last year, it was found to be inoperable this time for various reasons. I was offered a short course of chemotherapy, but unfortunately I reacted badly to it and had to stop and was left with serious side effects, which have gradually caused a deterioration in my overall health - including my concentration.
I am getting wonderful help and support from the local Hospital Trust - we are constantly grateful for living in such an excellent area of the country! In particular I am under the care of the local Hospiscare Nursing team who offer me regular checks and treatment at home, including excellent pain control and therapy.
It has not ben easy for us both to adjust to such a radical change in lifestyle, and there is no way of telling how long it may last. But I have always had a strongly positive approach to life, sustained by my faith and a caring Christian community at the local church. Not to mention my wonderful husband, who is having to bear the main burden. So you can understand what a special occasion it was to celebrate out 60 happy years together last week :P
So there it is....
My thanks to you all for our online friendship and fun over the many years of Puzzlebrains :D . No need for regrets!

Glad you are managing to stay upbeat and make the most of life, Wulfruna. It is, indeed, a very special thing to be celebrating 60 years of marriage. We reached 40 years today funnily enough! :D

Hope the doctors keep you as well as possible for as long as possible. There are amazing treatments out there these days, for which we must be very thankful.

Gosh Wulfruna, that must be so hard for you - and for the family. Great to hear you have such good support and that you have such a positive attitude. Hope you continue to enjoy life for a long time to come.

I can well understand how special it was to reach 60 years together and to be able to celebrate with all the family. :D

Such friendship is much appreciated, and proves why I wanted to share my news with you all. Building online relationships is an unexpected bonus of this kind of Forum, even though we have dwindled down to just a few of us... Thanks to Puzzlebrains!!

Thank you. :D
I meant to add that I am so pleased you have so many supportive local friends and that your husband is there for you. This must make this difficult time so much easier to cope with. And how lovely to have a special celebration in amongst it all (and to have the family down to visit!) I am glad you are being looked after so well. :D
