After 12 hours driving day 1, and 16 hours day 2, it was lovely to arrive. Yesterday was a lazy day, sun and pool. It's a brilliant place, just what we all needed. Today we're going into Bergerac.

Hurumph. So all my rain dances have directed the rain to you rather than here? Last time it rained here was 22nd June, and that was after a prolonged dry spell.

It was a massive set of lightning flashes for 30 minutes, cleared the air a bit but hardly any rain.

It's been 38 degrees here today.

Just waiting for the eclipse to show up.

Back home they're seeing nothing. Except cloud.

Great photo.
We were out yesterday evening going to the theatre and I wasn't sure I wanted to wander into a theatre carrying a colander but there were some people outside with them!

Best notice I saw yesterday was from the National Trust apologising that their sundials (with photos of a few of them) would be out of action from about 6pm until 8 pm and apologising for any inconvenience. They went on to reassure that they would be working again today. :D

Fantastic picture - thanks.
The best we managed was to rediscover pinhole camera technology. I mean, we didn't even have a colander with holes in it!
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

Glad you got home OK. Wouldn't mind some of that cold and damp though!

Me too. Still hot, sticky and dry here. Most of the garden now dead or dying.

Oh our garden is also really struggling. I am trying to save a few shrubs by using eg water when running the tap to get hot water and filling a bowl to donate to certain plants.
