I would like to hazard a guess.
Does the plural just add an S?

Hurray!!!

An end to the dreaded rhymes! (wish I'd never started that particular idea).

The answer is indeed that the only words which are acceptable are those that are pluralised with only an s. Therefore the plural of pike, the fish, is pike, but the plural of pike, the stick, is pikes.

Hope that didn't break the rules! Sorry for the stress of making you all rhyme!!!!

Giraffe, go for it - the cloak is yours!

Oh good we've stopped rhyming. Pike gave it away.

I'll have a think and get back to you. :?

Let me be the first to carp
You can too put an S on sharp:
When talking musically that's
as in the phrasing "sharps and flats".

No, seriously, that was a terrific rule - I had no idea what was going on. The rhyming bit was lots of fun too.

Buddha has asked me to inform the students that he has a new rule.

I will try to shed some light on the situation while the robes are away being adjusted to fit. (They were a little draughty round the neck).

Buddha likes
this, first, post, third, calm, Abba

Buddha dislikes
apples, bananas, lots, second, hurried, metallica

Master,

I would humbly like you to consider my theory.

This may be my first post on this forum but I am enjoying this game lots and lots.

May I welcome the new Master with my traditional offering of apples and bananas?

Thank you kind students for your offerings. Buddha informs me that he approves of this first post, but not lots
Scurra I'm afraid he is not pleased with either apples or bananas

(Sorry managed to confuse myself)

We know the Buddha likes to be first, but I would suggest that he would prefer to be third than second.

You are quite right (I see I have made this easy for everyone but myself) Buddha likes to be first or third, but never second

May I offer the teacher two new words for consideration? Does the Buddha like to be calm and never hurried?

Mistress, I would like to welcome you and to point out that maybe you should consider a much higher collar on the mantle. I would humbly like to offer you an Abba cd, because I feel that you would prefer it to Metallica?

I would like to use my guess to suggest to the Buddha that he likes words which contain at least 2 consecutive letters next to each other (in the right order), e.g. st, but not ts.

Thank you for passing on the mantle in such splendid condition!

I have consulted with the Buddha, and after the last round he has decided that the next one should be just a little more difficult :D

In fact I have shown him the magazine, and he wishes it to be known that he really enjoys the puzzles which are hard, but he finds rather a waste of his time those which are too easy.

I went to the greengrocer this morning, and he was completely out of apples and bananas...

May I instead offer these kiwifruits and kumquats to see which the Buddha prefers?

I heard the greengrocer had his entire stock of apples and bananas taken to allow to go overripe and be used as ammunition at a certain puzzle setter. I can't do the final step AND real life! Sneaking away from work for a moment though...

Gracious master, may it be asked whether the Buddha finds no merit in being either at home or away, but prefers to be in transit or just to travel?
