You lucky thing. I've always wanted to go but none of my friends are into flowers, and OH refuses point blank to go anywhere which involves queuing.

.... rehearsing for Joseph, for 8 solid hours!!!

I'm exhausted!! And so are the kids. It went relatively well, considering we're at the four-weeks-to-go stage. My lead has broken her arm though!!!

Typical!!

...Going to Surrey to see my daughter's final performance for her music degree. Talk about stressful. I kept having to tell myself to breathe!! She did a wonderful job though. In case any of you are classical music fans, she performed Rhapsody op 79 Johannes Brahms, Toccata by Peter Toth (a present day composer) and Rhapsody op11 no 3 by Dohnany. And I have to say that hearing them played on a £90 000 Steinway grand piano made it all the more impressive!!

Yes I know I sound like a crowing mother, and well I am today. I was truly proud of her. :D

I have to make the most of these nice things. In a few weeks I'll have them both back living here and driving me up the wall!!

That is impressive. I had a few years learning to play the piano and that is when I realised how hard it is - it is not only playing the different notes with each hand but getting the mode and feel of the music right. Well done to her. I was so nervous when doing my first exam that the actual examiner said that "I didn't need to do any more exams but could just enjoy playing." That says it all. Well done again to your daughter -she has my admiration.

Paula

Crow all you like, Min, I know i would. You must be really pleased and proud. And, as you say, make the most of it before she starts to drive you up the wall. (Don't I know about the balance between melting with pride and absolute irritation?? )

Well done both! I agree you have every right to crow. A nice piano can make a huge difference can't it.

I have the same breathing problem when mine play.

(F say his horn teacher only breathes when he does, so the naughty boy practices playing as much as he can in one breath in the hope the teacher will keel over!!!)

Well if she doesn't then all I can say is she did her very best. Which after all, is all you can ask of anyone isn't it?

I'll go back to normal and start moaning about them now!!

I spoke to my son this evening (MIRACLE - he actually rang me. Mind you it was because he needed more money, typical!). It's his girlfriend's birthday this week, and guess what they are doing for a special treat?...

Going to the BINGO!!!
Would you believe, apparently it's TRENDY now*. :o

* Well it is in the back end of beyond in Cornwall, anyway!!

Very Well Done to the young Bunny in her musical excellence :) I'm sure you had a great time listening to her (and everyone else), and that's one situation where a poor workman is not likely to blame their 'tools'.

Even my limited playing sounds very different (if memory serves) on different pianos - so I can't imagine playing an instrument like that - and probably wouldn't even if I had the chance, as it wouldn't deserve to be subjected to my playing.

Wonderful - I love it  Of course, this 'naughtiness' will only make him a better horn player with his increased breath control (and it's quite handy for swimming underwater as well) ;)
