...Digging.

No, don't worry, Donald's not going to be found beneath the patio in 10 years' time. (However tempting that may be sometimes! )

We're digging out our front lawn with a view to putting in some of that mesh stuff which means you can use it as a drive. I'm ABSOLUTELY cream crackered.

Got to wonder why anyone would bother taking that old roll of carpet from London to Hertfordshire. I think she'd be sussed before too long.

Please send Donald down here. My front garden looks like a bomb has hit it and could use a make over but OH doesn't see it. Anyone got a spare flamethrower I could borrow.

I've been mostly walking from Dawlish to the Warren and back (about 2 hours of walking)
I don't have hot flushes. I have short holidays in the Tropics.

Yes, I have a flamethrower for using on weeds.

....mostly been doing puzzles. Mr Giraffe took the little giraffes down on the seafront and braved the crowds. I sat in MIL's garden with my puzzles. I think I got the better end of the deal.

Sounds good to me - sitting in someone else's garden so you dont think you need to do any gardening...... my garden (and weeds !!!) had a shock today..... and I discovered some plants doing far better than I expected them to given the neglect they have had over the last year!

My veg is doing quite well. I put it all in pots and troughs this year so the weeds wouldn't take over too quickly.

Try scattering some nastursium seeds over the weeds. It wont kill the weeds but you won't be able to see them for flowers. Last year they ate my lawn, We mowed them, chopped them and dug them out. Guess what has re-appeared this year.

I have anenomes like that, they do my head in. I like Giraffe's burning idea, I've always wanted to be a pyromanic, perhaps I may just put the kings Cross page and southwark in with the weeds and they can all go together

My flame thrower is not very big and I'm not convinced it kills them as permamnetly as it says it will, but maybe new ones grow in place. Great fun though!

...............braved the seafront today and had a nice walk and icecream on the prom. Then as thunder clouds rolled in from the sea we drove over beachy head . Quite spectacular with the lightning and views.

At least she survived to tell the tale. :D

We went to Polesden Lacey today, took our waterproofs having seen the weather forecast, but didn't take sunhats or suntan lotion which would have been more useful  . Lovely views though and wonderful gardens. How nice it would have been to live somewhere like that!

I've been to find a flame thrower, none of the DIY shops sell it. Found it in Argos so hopefully get one at the weekend.
