Re: What to wear

Katherine was playing along with the 39 clues, so we got onto unfiction forum. It was fine in the beginning, but this past month or so, we just don't go there. The kids have invaded and it shows. Even she hates it

I'm sure yours will be just fine. They've been so great here. I remember ages ago not even knowing they weren't as old as the rest of us.

Now, you didn't answer my question! Who's going to watch over you

Fernando gave them advice before they left on which horse would be the best one to place money on. He said it would be the one in the third race beginning with P. He looked at the line up on the interent this morning for the third race, and there isn't a horse beginning with P! Never trust fernando's instinct!

Now that's the only vice I don't have. Never gamble, ever (don't even like buying raffle tickets, just donate instead). Judging by this, quite sensible really!!

I know all of maybe 100 Chinese characters, so the few times I've gone to the races here, I look at their names. If I recognize a word I place a bet. I've never lost yet  It only becomes a problem if I recognize more than one word.

We're back! Thanks for babysitting. :D

A really good weekend, the box was more or less over the finishing line, but by previous posts most of you would have missed the view as we were on the fourth floor, so quite high up. The weather was fine and the hotel ok, and a chance to get away very welcome. (Even if we did get a call from grandma and Fernando about how to set the dishwasher off before we had checked in  )

We did gamble, but in moderation. We couldn't agree which horse to back in the third race (The main event,) so had an each way bet on two horses, which came home first and third! We won £145  Which paid for our losses for the rest of the afternoon, and we were still slightly ahead at the end.

The outfit was just right. So right that I saw someone else wearing my dress as we were leaving. We were just behind her and it must have looked hillarious! (I'm sure it looked better on me  )

No problem looking after the kids - it's been fun :)

Kingsley and the little'n have been keeping us entertained musically, and I've been using my barkeeping skills to show Fernando how to juggle the glasses, plates, and knives to make loading the dishwasher more fun.

[YES - when I worked bar at the cricket club I was asked to STOP juggling with the sharp knife we used to slice lemons as the children were copying me at home  Spoilsports]

Glad you had a good time, and well done on the betting :)
