Stress managment

STRESS MANAGEMENT TECHNIQUE

Just in case you are having a rough day, here is a stress management
technique recommended in all the latest psychological journals. The
funny thing is that it really does work and will make you smile..

1. Picture yourself lying on your belly on a warm rock that hangs
out over a crystal clear stream..
2. Picture yourself with both your hands dangling in the cool
running water.
3. Birds are sweetly singing in the cool mountain air.
4. No one knows your secret place.
5. You are in total seclusion from that hectic place called the
world.
6. The soothing sound of a gentle water fall fills the air with a
cascade of serenity.
7. The water is so crystal clear that you can easily make out the
face of the person you are holding underwater.

There!! See? It really does work.... You're smiling already. Feel free
to forward this if you know others who might benefit from this
technique.

Thought we could use this in the light of the new puzzle books :D

Yeah, I've used that technique myself. Although I find that the big floppy ears are something of a distraction.

I got to 6 and was overcome by a strong urge to rush to the loo! (Running water has that effect on me, I don't find it soothing at all.) I was glad I'd stayed around though when I got to 7.

We do love each other really. Don't we Scurra?

Edited because it could have been construed as Scurra-baiting. ;)

What, unlike everything else you've ever written?

(I get around the question by pretending I didn't see it Even though it's in rather large letters.)

Yes, but I'm only like that about people I know won't take it the wrong way. And I do really hope you don't. It's when I'm polite you need to really worry.

And I think you'll all agree that just doesn't happen often on here. Take it as a compliment.

I've got a little sticker on my desk at work that says 'I'm smiling, that alone should worry you'.... same principle I think!

Oh I'm frequently startling people at work by smiling. I do it a lot (some will find this hard to believe) but I am generally a happy soul and I like my job. At least 3 people commented "she's still smiling" in the last week - they're all walking round with faces like tripe. I think people tend to notice it because I have such a big gob. I actually look like this smiley, but not quite as yellow, and with more crooked teeth. :D

Like I say, it's when I am polite that people start running away.

I've always maintained you can say anything you like - however insulting- just so long as you say it with a smile. The assumption is always that you are joking.

Its when I go quiet everyone knows there's an explosion coming. They take no notice if I'm just shouting. :D

and probably give yourself all sorts of high-blood-pressure and ulcers because you're keeping it all in and not letting it out like a normal irrational person!!!

Yes, I have no ulcers, and have very low blood pressure. But I suspect a certain jester has.

Find as I get older I don't worry so much

If people are going to be stupid, brainless, overbearing, selfish, thick idiots who have no intellegence, beauty or sense, with no discernable saving features -- they are going to be like that no matter what I say so why should I try and save them from their follies!

There's definitely something to be said for that outlook on life. But I'm afraid that although I seldom lose my temper, when I do, it's not a pretty sight. Self-control? What's that again?

But to be fair, I do also lose control by being in fits of hysterical laughter too. (Usually when I'm on here, last time was Gill and the bottomless glass. Being as how the evil jester is not here today, I'll let you into a secret. Shhhh.... come closer. >whispers< I had just told her "he's been quite sweet really", at which point she crushed her glass and just about wrote off her keyboard in amazement. But whatever you do , don't tell him, will you?)

The above is actually true

It wasn't that Scurra was being sweet that amazed me (he's always nice to me ;) ) it was Bunny admitting it that caused the problem. :D :D
