I'll second that :o Anything involving arterial bleeding is bad news - hope the medics have it all under control and he recovers OK.

:o Biscuit! How awful! Hope he gets well soon!

...I've mostly bin clearing out stuff from the loft so that my boy can do a car boot sale tomorrow morning (6am, what fun) . I'd forgotten how many fancy dress costumes I had made for the kids when they were little: Obi Wan kenobi cloak, an Isis costume (including irridescent wings with feathers, gold rope and a HOME MADE wig, a Robin Hood outfit, a belly dancer outfit to name but a few. I can't believe I could be bothered!! I'd also written them stories and designed and painted Celtic style name plaques for their doors. I really must have had too much time on my hands!!! Funny how much you forget!

We seem to have spent a large part of today throwing random girls names around in an effort to give the kittens permanent names. It is proving amazingly difficult to find something we all like.

The fancy dress costume I am most proud of making is a unicorn for my daughter but I don't think we still have it.

That sounds like he's on the mend then. Phew!

...today I've mostly bin...

getting up at 5:30am (after 1 hour's sleep! )and taking my son and his girlfriend to do a car boot sale. Never been to one before, and I'm sort of hoping I won't have to again. I couldn't believe it - as soon as we'd drawn up in the car and opened the door there were people asking "have you got any electrical goods?" "Have you got any gold or silver?" Even as we were unloading, I turned my back and found a man rooting about IN MY CAR looking through our stuff. Well he got the short end of my temper, I can tell you!! They reminded me of crows swooping in on carrion.

All I can say is: WHY would anyone want to go and buy someone else's old rubbish? Can't understand it myself. I have enough old rubbish of my own. Still, they made about £60 profit between them, so they were happy. I'm a bit fed up with the amount that has come BACK with us though.

We went to a car boot once. - we hated it - as you mention they are quite bold - we did sell quite a lot though but my husband refused to go again. I keep thinking of trying ebay

... recovering from an awkward fall which I suffered yesterday (memo: ought to know better than climbing on chairs at my age.... :o :o :o ) which has left me with a pulled muscle in my back - very painful, causing nasty twinges at the least movement. So am living on paracetomol at the moment :( :( :( . Fortunately no more serious damage than that, as I have always had soft bones that don't break easily...
However, one disadvantage (??) is that I can't sit up at the computer for very long at a time, as it is too uncomfortable..... so my Puzzlebrains researches (and communications on the Forums :x ) will be somewhat restricted :?

You poor thing :( You should leave the clambering on things to us web-spinners.

I am convinced that 'Gravity' is not constant. I'm sure it's getting stronger the older I get

It's good to know that you don't break easiily, but take care of yourself. {I started to type advice on recovery, then figured that you may well know far more than me - so I'll just shut up :D }

well its quite easy to explain mbh
the more you weigh the more the earth pulls... so gravity "gets stronger" as you gain weight :-D

just think back to being 7 running around climbing falling off things and bouncing...

when you weighed a couple of stone......

Wow! Good photos MBH!! I particularly like the one with the whirly smoke trails and the one that looks like a giant moth. :D

I think Clvrlad might have a point about the weight - that's probably why I now have to avoid doing anything which requires any balance (I have absolutely no sense of balance and fall over all the time). I went to watch K's boyfriend doing snowboarding the other day. I REALLY REALLY wanted to go sledging (I love sledging) because I knew skiing would be a step (or a slip) too far. Unfortunately, apparently after a stag do went there and terrorised the kiddies  you can only go in parties which include children. (Anyone got any children I can hijack??).

Sadly, I think my falling over is exascerbated by my being so overweight. Which is doubly depressing when as a young woman I was affectionately known as "the stick"! Bit more like a trunk these days.

Coming home from CAMPING   Not much sleep for two nights first night the wind drove me made and last night the torrential rain (which I had ordered, but I wanted it to stop so I could sleep). Back home to my own bed, bath and loo. Will NEVER be doing that again (under canvas anyway)
I don't have hot flushes. I have short holidays in the Tropics.

Urgh, how nasty. That's enough to put you off for life, isn't it?

...walking with my friend. It was one of those walks which started with my now famous phrase "There's a nice footpath over here, I THINK I know the way..."

4 hours, several gate climbings, a field full of 6' high prickly stuff and a shut pub later we re emerged. Mind you it did turn into one of those lovely windy sunny days, and the wheat fields were that lovely beige-gold against the dark green of the woods, we heard a yellow hammer, saw a red kite and about 10 different species of butterflies, so who could fail to enjoy that? We are lucky really, I know I moan about where I live in chavsville, but I tend to lose sight of how fortunate I am to be able to walk for about 10 minutes and be in our glorious Hertfordshire countryside.

hi wulfrena
You reminded me of a tale my mum told. Doing gardening last week she stood on an uneven bit of ground, fell over and cound not get up. She was looking after my 4 year old nephew so she asked him to get grandad from the back garden. He went and told grandad he had to come because "nanny looked so funny" - he thought nanny wanted grandad to laugh at her and didn't realise that she had hurt herself. - poor nanny was left outside for ages as grandad didn't realise how serious it was!!!

Poor mum she is really quite bruised:(
