Re: just for the trekkies
Very Interesting (if a little impractical at the moment).
I confess I did need to confirm that femtosecond is a valid unit of time. 1,000,000,000,000,000th of a second

Re: just for the trekkies
well its significantly bigger than planks time
aprox 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 Planck times =1 femtosecond
and as of 2006, the smallest unit of time that was directly measured was on the order of 1 attosecond or a thousandth of a femtosecond
yes im a science nerd

If you really were, then you wouldn't be using all those noughts
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

I suppose the subject of "Just for the Trekkies" - should have made us steer away???

Re: just for the trekkies
well ok plank time is aprox 10^-43 seconds
and conceivably the smallest possible time that's measurable
its worked out by how long it would take light to travel the plank length
and no im not going to start discussing quantum theory....
not unless you insist anyway

Re: just for the trekkies
So his 'time' measurements must be inversly proportional to his 'distance' measurements, otherwise it makes a mockery of the phrase....

Totally irrelevant to whatever it is you're talking about (because I don't know what that is and I'm not totally convinced you do either
):
when I was at school one of the teachers wrote a report for a girl in my year which read:
4"x2"x10"x2.
Think that summed her up nicely!
