Sorry Gill, I would offer but OH only just suffers the one we've got (grumpy old so and so).

Re: Cats
Yes, both cat AND OH are grumpy old sods. Cat, however, is just starting to forgive me for having left her for a week (I got the silent treatment yesterday, back turned, the lot). Mind you we confused her today by getting 2 new sofas delivered and having to put the old ones (temporarily) in the back garden. I've been sitting on a sofa on the back lawn reading my book with a completely freaked out cat.

now that sounds perfect (the sitting on the sofa on the back lawn reading, not the freaked out cat!), pity the weather has turned today.Bunnylump wrote:I've been sitting on a sofa on the back lawn reading my book with a completely freaked out cat.I don't think the neighbours are that impressed either.
I'm impressed, even if the neighbours aren't! Mind you, its worrying about what the neighbours think that stops me spending more time in the garden - I say garden, more a sort of area of overgrown grass with piles of building work residue, surrounded by out of control bushes!

Re: Cats
We do now have a tidy front garden at last (remember I was digging, a while back?). We took down a cherry tree which was just about to uproot our house and a wall with a dangerous crack in it. We've gone all "green" (I'm keen on environmental issues and passionately hate concrete or block paved front gardens, which IMHO are one of the main causes of flooding issues) and re used the wall, as hardcore, then put a layer of sand, then reinforcing stuff, finally the sifted mud and grass seed. The idea is that once the grass has grown we can park on it and it'll look slightly like a lawn.
Stupid thing is (and this is where I refer back to the thread, just in case Scurra is getting crotchety) that when we were at the SAND stage, all the local cats thought we'd made them a lovely big litter tray. Now that it's all finished, one determined cat (don't know if it was ours or someone else's) has gone to the trouble of scooping out the mud (and grass seed) from one of the cells in the reinforcing, pooed in it, and replaced the soil!!!
I call that true dedication!!

Re: Cats
My son is home, and is trying to play the piano (he's working out the tune to Christmas Lights by ear). The trouble is that my cat is so impressed that he's come home that she wants his attention. She's been walking up and down the piano keys, playing the piano with him!!
WHAT a racket!!

My son has fingers like that. Weird. Mind you, his Dad has webbed fingers so he's odd too...

Re: Cats
Apparently my cat has been sitting under my desk all the time I've been in hospital.
But when I came home last night, he was scared of my cast and my crutches. Neither of us are very happy at the moment.

Hope you are not feeling too sore - very soon your cat might use the crutches as a scratching post

On Friday. Half an hour sitting on the snow until the ambulance came, and then 7 hours at the hospital with a wet bum. Not recommended

Re: Cats
Just been round to feed my Mum's cat (who's living still in her house). Stupid cat had got himself locked in the bathroom, and instead of opening the door, he'd dug up all the carpet, thus totally jamming the door. I could hear a pitiful miaowing as I opened the front door, I then had to force the bathroom door open, clear up all the POO
and re-lay the shredded carpet.
I REALLY must send my sensible cat round to give him
a) Door opening lessons
b) Going outside to do his business lessons
