Hi there folks.... I got back from my evening out - nothing very exciting..... but now i'm just in time for the national Youth Orchestra on the Proms (second half), do have to confess that this is a major attraction!
I have been helping one or two others already on the lists of words for Knight of Swords - so if any of you would like me to check what you have, I am happy for you to PM. No spoilers given - just yes or no!

Hi there all. I'm just back from my holidays and called in to Reading on my way home. Supersleuth Looby and LAT had really gone to town!! Supersleuth's son had done a grand job with all the treasure trail; I ended up on a team with Scurra and actually managed to refrain from pushing him into the lake. I can confirm, by the way, that he DOESN'T have 2 heads, so there's a surprise. It was an absolute hoot (although I don't think I managed to contribute anything to the puzzle solving, I just encouraged Looby to sabotage the scavenger hunt for the other team).

Gill had made everyone some really fabulous cotton bags with a puzzlebrains logo on them! Her OH had come fully prepared with 2 guitars!! (Shame you weren't there Bass Bloke). Everyone was so busy chatting we failed to hear a car crashing into the fence out in the road and police with flashing lights etc. in attendance.

Unfortunately I couldn't stay for the murder mystery, but from what I hear Looby's been poisoning MBH, MBH has won a best actor oscar, and there are lemmings involved.

I had a great holiday, thanks. Weather was variable, but hey, this is England!! And the meet was such fun. Wish I could have stayed longer. MBH brought along twin purple rabbit rings!!

Great that you were able to call in on the party - and thanks for sharing some of it with us. It's nice to have a bit of a taster of what they are up to while we down our lonely glasses of wine.....

Well, all I can say is that if there is ever another puzzlebrains meet, I can definitely recommend it. It's hard getting over that initial fear of "oh my goodness, they might all be mad axemen" or, in my case "What if they just think I'm really BORING?" and "I'm not confident enough to go somewhere I don't know and meet people I've never met". Everyone was really, really friendly and just great fun. It's well worth the effort. I just wish I could have stayed longer.

Yeah, and sadly I'm usually there at the same time as he is (3.30am for example) NOT getting any insipiration at all!!) Still, if he's sill there now he'll have missed his train. So he's either left or is hankering down in the gazebo as we speak...

I have this strong feeling that copious amounts of alcohol may be being consumed. After their horrendous journey down I strongly suspect that Fraggle, Gill and their long suffering OHs will be in need of something. Mind you, Gill was fragile when she turned up after LAST night. So no hope at all.

You all sound like you have a really good time, just wish I could get there, but with an OH who doesn't mix and that puzzles are a waste of time there is no chance unless..........

And you are right -- Ann is worrying that she isn't there with stick to batter some sort of order into them all!

And yes - all the previous meets have been great fun --been to the first three and disapointed to miss this one, still both of us are getting more mobile so maybe - just maybe - can think about the next one!

Fingers crossed Brian! And Strep, you have NO IDEA how long it took me (and what lengths I had to go to*) to convince my OH to call in on our way home. I think he thought that people I'd encountered on the internet were likely to be a dodgy lot with two heads. He was very pleasantly surprised, I have to say.

* Maybe that's why I have such a bad back? Must've been all that chandelier swinging...
