What has the weather been like in England?
Hi all, Just wondering what clothes to bring. What has the weather been like in England? Its really warm here but very wet - like a cup of tea. Do i need to bring wellies?
Re: What has the weather been like in England?
Well there's been a bit of a dispute this week over whether the Met Office really suggested that we were going to have a "Barbecue Summer".
Personally, I think that it has been exactly that - hot and sunny until everything is ready, and then it pours down.

Well, I'm going to tell everyone coming to the weekend to be prepared for the afternoon, with waterproofs, stout shoes etc, as the treasure hunt is going to go ahead unless there is rain of bibilical proportions. No-one here is building an ark to ferry you all about.

Here's what OH said this morning:
As the rain always comes from the west, and west of us is Ireland - how about we tow Ireland somewhere else and be done with it
Spare shoes and waterproofs would be a good idea in general if the last couple of weeks are anything to go by. Speak to you Monday.

You'll probably need everything from a bikini to a sou' wester but I don't think you'll need thermal underwear.
Don't you have children's sized feet? You could get some of those cool frog wellies with eyes.

The online long range weather forcast says 0% chance of rain for the Saturday - so be prepared for the worst!

Happy days then - bikini and wellies (how very fetching!!!)
Every single day here has started off lovely and then by afternoon (just in time for me stopping work) - it pours down.
Ok, thank you for that. Looking forward to seeing you all!
Bunny, I wish you were going!

Just got home (hooray! comfy bed) and every single day for the two weeks we were away there was some rain. From a few minutes of drizzle to torrential all day. A case of were the ducks walking past the front door, or swimming? We had a couple of days on the beach with sunshine, but a strong wind and the day we cycled was lovely and sunny after the drizzle had cleared.

Oh good. Hopefully it's rained on you and we're going to have lots of dryth.
(That's NOT going to happen).

Well, I can confirm that the Fraggle did not turn up in a bikini and wellies. But it was a beautiful sunny day.

Re: What has the weather been like in England?
No, I wouldn't have subjected anyone to that - you would all have needed counselling!!!

Re: What has the weather been like in England?
Yes, but only because you were wearing the bikini on your legs and the wellies, well...
