Happy Birthday Williamshk.
And belatedly to Sigur Ros - at least as far as this thread is concerned :D I assume that the more tangible card arrived on time and that at least some of that birthday money has gone on what I suggested ;) ? I have no illusions that like most Dads, the excuse of getting a pressie for my grandson is just a case of self-indulgence on your part really

well, I must admit that I really enjoyed the excuse to buy the set of Beatrix Potter books, and will definitely be getting him lots of lego etc as he grows   (oh, and yes, card and money arrived, although he hasn't yet made it to Slattery's (that's the best chocolatier shop in the country, for those who were wondering), but he will!)

Oops, sorry, Happy Birthday Williamshk

Apologies to others for this mysterious in-family communication :? Sigur Ros's birthday treat was indeed meant to be a trip to Slattery's: a little corner of chocolate heaven which seems to have found its way to Greater Manchester..... an Aladdin's cave of chocolate treats which is rather unexpected for those who thought that Bury's great gourmet offering to the world is Black Pudding - though this is also the best in the country if anyone had any doubts!

I must say that it seems pretty funny that with the money I have received, I am looking at things to get Thomas (our 10½ week old).

A plush Cthulhu and the plush Monty Python Mini Black Beast of Arrrggghhh are tempting me so far, but alas it may be a tad early for him (and me  ;) )
so what was eventually bought...??
oh btw...this reminded me Image

I'm not sure if I've ever asked about your name - I keep reading it as a contraction of:

onward and upward

... but you could just as easily be P. N. Ward
