Frozen Shoulder - anyone had this?

#1 Post by Redfraggle » Thu Aug 20, 2009 3:07 pm

Have any of you ever had a frozen shoulder? Apparently my symptoms sound like a frozen shoulder. I can't raise my arm and I cant move it in a circular motion either. Sleeping on it is a nightmare too but I'll live. I have Dr appt next Friday to find out. Im just wondering should i try to force it through the pain or rest it? Any advice is welcome.

Not had it myself, but a friend has and she recommended accupuncture.
Hope you get it sorted soon.

Acupuncturists are very good speakers - they always get their point across

I would definately give accupunture a try . Physiotherapist regurlary use it - I know of someone who had successful treatment for a Bells Palsy with accupunture.

Anything would be better than the pain - Good Luck

I had bursitis in my shoulder a few years ago. The doctor gave me a cortisone injection which made me feel really ill for the rest of the day. Then it took about a month for much improvement in the shoulder. It eventually went right, and so far it's never returned.

I feel you might be right there clvrlad.

I have an old injury problem (recenly operated on) which was made worse when I stayed with my daughter for a week after she'd had her second baby.

Had many cortisone injections which helped for awhile. Hoping this second op is going to be the end of my problems, it's going ok so far.

I can sympahise with you fraggle hope you get it sorted soon :)

The pain isnt unbearable, it's just affecting my sleep and I dont sleep much anyway. Gill will vouch for that! But in the mornings, I can barely move it at all. :? Makes getting washed a dressed a bit of a nightmare. I shall see what the Dr days and what they recommend.

Had a physiotherapist look at my arm today. She said it's a frozen shoulder judging by my range of movement. She told me to ask the Dr to send me for physio and urgently since its in my dominant side. She tweaked it a bit and it's relieved it for a while, but now im walking round the house making strange movements (Ivan's calling me the funky chicken)

You could have a new theme song
Do Do Do the funky Fraggle (the Funky Fraggle)
We're all here to show you how
(Boopedy do)
etc...

Poor Fraggle..... hope it gets better real soon. I had a similar problem once, but managed to get it sorted out - needed patience and time :?
