Not Rubbish at all - but you do have a model to work from ;)

Well done - I hope you're going to submit it. [Maybe when the bet is finished, they will take their collection on tour?]

I'm a bit worried that the giraffe appears to be eating the branches rather than the leaves...
Also, what happened to the shadow of the back legs?!

(You do realise that I'm only carping because it's about fifty gazillion times better than any giraffe I could paint!)

Well isn't it obvious? The sun wasn't out when he painted my back legs!

Scurra-

Kingsley said that as well. I thought because they weren't on the picture maybe I coul get away with not putting the shadow on the picture. That apparently failed.

Instead I am going to call him the world first two legged giraffe. Oh alright second after Mum.

Kingsley the real artist of the family. You should try to persuade her to do you a picture.

It took a while for me to scan the picture in because I scanned it and then i tried to crop it so I went through all these programs and none of them did what I wanted them to because they thought they knew best. And then I tried to save it but it wouldn't work because it was the wrong save format or something. When I eventually got it sorted I attempted to post it on puzzlebrains it told me the file was too big so I had to find a program that would shrink it.

I eventually managed to sort it out with a bit of improvisation but I wouldn't know what I had done or how to do it again if I needed to. Does anyone know how to scan something into the computer so that it works quickly and easily for next time I need to scan a giraffe into the computer?? :D

It depends what scanner you have and what software that comes with it, and what software you have on the computer to do anything with it afterwards. The GIMP is a free (and powerful, and consequently quite complicated) image editing package. Might be a hefty learning curve, but at least it would keep all the things you had to do in one place. (For example http://www.gimp.org/tutorials/Lite_Quickies/ )
There is also paint.net which is reputedly very good as a successor to the old fave "MS Paint".
Summat else along the lines of a "Gimp Lite" that I heard about recently too. If I remember, I'll let you know.

Don't worry. Scurra's just carping because he's fed up with everyone complaining about his puzzles. I thought it was a good giraffe. I got as far as getting lots of stuff out and then getting distracted.
