Re: Word Zendo
My humble apologies. I am told by Buddha I must enter a retreat tomorrow to commune with my soul.
(Actually it's a day of workshops on owning and community assets. I know how to have a good time.)
I am reluctant to pass on Buddha's words of enlightenment until they have been finely tuned - nearly there. I didn't expect to pass the test!

Re: Word Zendo
I think you have served as a good example to the rest of us - guessing at a rule, even when it seems stupid, is sometimes much more effective than making offerings. (I was nowhere near that one, simple as it turned out to be!)
In passing, may I request one thing - that people try to wait for at least one other student to post before making another guess? I know it's sometimes quite exciting when you realise that you know what the rule is, but it can be disconcerting to return to a thread and find that one person had made a number of guesses in sequence - and then solved the rule - and all before anyone else got to have a go!

Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

You're quite right Scurra, I did barrel in there. I remember that as a very good rule in the other place. Apologies to all!
I am instructed to leave you with the message that the truth is there for all to find if the road to enlightenment is followed carefully.

Greetings, Mistress, we welcome you, and hope that we prove worthy students. Should I offer you a celebratory banner, but avoid tooters?

The wise Bunnylump is correct on her surmise, I would indeed be honoured by a banner, and is irritated by discordant tooters

Re: Word Zendo
Does the Buddha like to keep abreast of the news? And in so doing is there a preference for Newspapers over the internet?

Re: Word Zendo
The Buddha abhors what is happening in the world today but no good is served by remaining ignorant of events. Both Newspapers and the Internet are useful tools.
Re: Word Zendo
Oh mistress scarletannie, may I humbly enquire whether the Buddha would prefer to lodge in a comfortable room than to make do with any old accommodation?
Re: Word Zendo
Greetings new master, you beat me to that one!
Can I suggest that the Buddha would like some coffee, but would detest tea?

Re: Word Zendo
May I suggest that the budda should not visit the zoo, because although he loves seeing the elephants, the tigers irritate him?
Re: Word Zendo
I am trying to decide what to cook for supper tonight. Would the buddha favour a meal of spicy chicken as being more suitable for this cold weather than quiche?

Have you been sitting here waiting for that post??
Re: Word Zendo
I think she probably was What's more entertaining is that this one thread accounts for about a fifth of all the postings on the board so far...

Kingsley, yes I have been sitting waiting for that. Since 8am to be precise. At that point we were at 1991 posts and everyone went shopping instead of talking
Now I can eat. Thank you LAT.

I hope it takes hours and hours. 1000 happened on a Friday. 2000 on a Saturday. Where is everyone on Friday and Saturday? OUT!!!!

Re: Word Zendo
I have returned from my retreat with many thoughts to occupy me - not one involves how many posts have been made on this site!
The austere life leads Buddha to shun a room but be pleased to accept humble accommodation when offered.
Coffee and tea are equally acceptable in moderation,
Buddha has no time for mud coloured elephants but admires the striped tigers
Novice LAT, I'm afraid both your meals of chicken and quiche would prove unpalatable to the Great One.
