Well, as a bit of a late starter to the world of DVP, I had never seen that thread! I'm now starting to wonder what else I missed. So, anyone got any good suggestions of other cracking threads I might need to read??

I suspect you had to be there to appreciate this one, but it was a great evening.

That evening had to be the best ever. Chaos reigned totally. There we were- like birds on a wire - and the site clogged up.

I've tried to find the dinghy, giraffe and elephant saga. That just had to be the funniest ever. I wonder where Rhys is now?

I seem to remember friction- funny friction because those that could get in didn't know why the rest of us were messing up. Poor Giraffe was elected co-ordinator and everything went haywire. Do I recall DVP stepping in and making up a name so we could continue? This was supposed to take something like 10mins- I think it took us something like 4 hours. DVP threw in the towel

The one which still makes me cry with laughter (other than Sunday Morning Sex) was this (I can't find the actual thread but I copied it into word. jf is Redfraggle.

Jf Awhh, that's not fair - Im really quiet and shy!

LA yup, so you are. And I'm the Queen of Sheba

Brian Hail O Queen and how is Mr Solomon?

Scurra You know, technically, I might be the only Wise one around here (for the moment, at least.)
Oh, no, wait, that's for someplace else, isn't it? Here I'm just the Fool...

LA So should I call you Solomon now Scurra?

Scurra You can call me what you like, your Majesty.

LA Now there's an invitation!

Any suggestions anybody?

Stu Can we call him Germolina? Don't know why, it just came to me.

LA Germolina?

Jf I like that word - somebody put it in a sentence Please!

Stu I already did!

jfwill you now give me a Limerick with the word in it?

Offline A jester they named Germolina
Made sport for the King-a and Queen-a
When his japes fell like lead
They cried "Off with his head
And his feet and the bits in between-a"

Jf that's excellent!!!!

LAThat's very good Stu

So that's decided, It's Germolina now

Scurra Fortunately for me, your Majesty, this whole conceit depends upon jf being quiet and shy. [Although I bet you've all forgotten that ]

Thank goodness for that.

-- Germolina, Jester to the Queen of Sheba

Jf Can I have a limerick now about a fraggle?

LA Scurra wrote:

Has a certain ring about it doesn't it?

B I would but all I can think of to rhyme with "fraggle" is gaggle, haggle and waggle. Stu -it's down to you!

Unless you want a limerick to do with penny-wise geese!

Scurra A Fraggle who lived on the Rock
Tore a hole in her lovely new frock.
"Oh bother," she said
And turned rather red.
"Now you can all see my  ..."

Jf Am I a man???? Really?

LA and what are you thinking of jf?

Jf Im not saying on the forum!

Stu A tiny but very loud Fraggle
Got thoroughly wet and bedraggled
She stopped cars for a lift
And a bloke with stick-shift
Said "I won't, but I bet you that Jag'll."

B Very good limericks. I would like one about purple rabbits please! (Otherwise it is favouritism and I'll go off and sulk!)

Scurra Dearie me. That last smilie, if you see it in words, is "" which completes the rhyme perfectly.

I have no idea what everyone else was thinking of.

I've never seen a purple rabbit
I never hope to see one.
But from the posts we're getting now
there certainly must be one.

Stu Very clever, Scurra. (Edit: I was originally referring to the smilie but I like the limerick too. I'd never heard the sequel to the original.)

A rabbit with purplish toesies
Was playing ring-a-ring-a-rosies
She suddenly sneezed
And her pawsies all freezed
And she dropped dead of mimimatosis

B Very good both of you! (I liked the smilie thing too, Germolina, Jester to the Queen of Sheba, typical of you to get another puzzle in!!!!)

B Stu, I really hope you're not wishing Miximatosis on me, but nevertheless, I shall treasure both limericks. I do feel a bit wierd about the fact that the only poems that have ever been written for me are addressed to me as a purple rabbit though, rather than the truly ravishing femme fatale that I am!!

Stu It's what you asked for! Jeez, you give a woman exactly what she wants and then she doesn't want it any more.

A femme fatale called Bunny
Was out on the town with her honey
She stripped him all bare
And ravished him there
Which the magistrate didn't find funny

That what you were after?

B FABULOUS!

Thank you. I can now proudly boast to my friends that I have had three poems written for me, two of which refer to me as a purple rabbit, one written by a fictional clown and one from Germolina, jester to the Queen of Sheba.

They'll either be really jealous, or have me locked up!

I'd totally forgotten about Germolina.

I have one of those airfreshener things that squirts every so many minutes. I dis-armed it because it smells like germoline. Its supposed to be Lavender & camomile.

I have the time the place and the person now

They're fab. Why do I get the felling that Scurra might object if we all started calling him Germolina though? :?

Oh excellent. I'll go and have a read. That'll cheer me up no end.

I made a point of calling Scurra Germolina for several weeks after that. In fact, I think it's about time it got revisited. What do you think, Germolina??

Why do I get the feeling I did a limerick for you as well? Or was it a Haiku??

Didn't find MBH's poem to you Bunny but I did find this :D
I have no outstanding skills suitable for a circus, unfortunately. Oh, except I can pick up 20p in 2 pence pieces in my buttocks and deposit them accurately in a pint jug

  That was the bit where we were all discussing what circus skills we had. I personally wondered if this is what inspired Paulman to write All the Fun of the Fair!!

I was saying to MBH the other day that I found the first time he "spoke" to me on 13/9/07
It's nice to know we continue to get sensible people of the same frame of mind as us - good to have you around Bunnylump
and I replied
Thank you! I now have a nice warm fluffy feeling.

Oh, sorry, that must be my rabbit fur g-string.
So he should have known straight away just what kind of sister he was inheriting!!

And there I was, thinking that I had really missed something not being part of the da Vinci clan..... but after all, perhaps I should be heaving a sigh of relief at having escaped the worst of the insanity

Oh, I don't know. There's quite a bit of insanity to be found over here too!!  (And a lot of it is sparked by your boy, you know - he can be a bit of a devil, you know!! - Wonder where he got that from??)
