I bet your English Teacher wouldn't be too happy to read this thoughfernando wrote:I hope it gets you're brains working a bit.
Thanks. I must confess that I'm not a big fan of "maths" puzzles, which is why you won't find too many in Puzzlebrains - but that doesn't mean there won't be any
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

Four typos corrected.
Re: Christmas Quiz
Well I'm impressed. I've never used publisher and it would have been a whole lot easier to just scan the sheet in, if only we knew how to use the scanner
Part of question 5 seems to be missing.

These look like fun What 'age range' are they being thrown at?

Re: Christmas Quiz
Humph is all I can say MBH. OH being all things musical we have this complicated sound system attached to the TV, DVD, video, etc.
I couldn't get any sound out of the DVD and he said exactly your words. "You have to learn how to use it and then dont be frightened of it"
Guess who would have got the blame if I'd fiddled with it. Then he remembered he'd taken a lead out of the back to use on something else..........................
Just Humph.

Re: Christmas Quiz
I have also heard that from my husband. He sounds like yours, Gill. We have DVD, bluray DVD, amps, preamps etc. To play a DVDVD(as my granson calls them) I need to use 4 remote controls for 5 pieces of equipment. I have frequently phoned him (he works in a library) to ask why I have sound and no picture or vice versa. Usually he has rewired something and not told me. But I am meant to know this and be able to work it out. MEN!!!
Re: Christmas Quiz
I have scanned things, but they always come out small and blurry.
Re: Christmas Quiz
Mainly years 10 and 11 ie age 14 to 16 I think. These look like fun What 'age range' are they being thrown at?

Re: Christmas Quiz
Probably a bit too hard for me then!
You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

Yes, and I don't even understand half of them
Re: Christmas Quiz
Ooh Fernando, thank you. I might give that to some of my pupils!
Re: Christmas Quiz
Fernando, in question 1 is there by any chance a clue for 10 down? Without it I can solve everything except that there are two alternatives for each of the first two digits of 13 across, which a clue for 10 down would probably resolve.

Re: Christmas Quiz
Try the clue for 9 down as there isn't a 9 down.

Re: Christmas Quiz
That's right. He has typed 9 instead of 10. There is also a comment at the end of the question that "No answer begins with 0"
