You don't tend to get to taste too much of it. You do however end up with rather a lot in your ears and hair, and down your t shirt...

...playing silly games on the computer.
I've just beaten my best time for the intermediate Minesweeper - 54 seconds. :D

So you haven't been tempted by the word game on "Wasting time" then? :D

And yes, Giraffe, that WAS a spectacular top of the page post if ever I saw one!!

That is very impressive

I can do the beginners one consistantly under the 25 second mark, but Intermediate usually take a bit more than a minute to do (I think! I'm going to have to go and try it now, aren't I? Grrrr!)

I once taught a class of 11-year-olds to play Minesweeper properly... they didn't want to play games with me after that - I made them think too hard

I think I lapsed into literalism - I interpreted 'blindfold jelly eating' as meaning 'eating a blindfold jelly'. It happens to me sometimes - I see an advert which says 'cast-iron umbrella stand' and wonder who would have a cast-iron umbrella.

Oh PLEASE don't start me back on Minesweeper!! I got fixated on the Expert level. I got that I could do it pretty well, but it usually entailed me staying up until unearthly hours to make one work! (Obsessive-moi?)

Um, cast iron umbrella?

Yes I always expect the door to start screaming!

Don't get me started back on minesweeper either. My best times were 9 seconds, 40 seconds and 113, but there is usually a monent or two of guesswork near the end of expert and it is a long time since I beat 150 on it. The problem with having the computer repaired is that it usually wipes the times off minsweeper and then it's very tempting to go and redo them.

Message from MBH via twin telepathy:

They're off on holiday for a week in the Lakes, and got his puzzle book just before leaving. How jammy is THAT? :D

...I, however have just gone back to work today. :x So you lot will have the grumpy half of the twin package to speak to!!

Walking.
Got the train to Charlton and then walked to the Thames Barrier and back along the Thames Path to the London Eye.
We got very wet in the rain and I'm now going for a hot bath!

Well all I can say is I hope it didn't rain as much on you there as it did here today. I got soaked, quite literally through to the skin, just walking across the school quad. In fact, it was awful. Like a twit I didn't have a coat, so it was a bit like a wet t shirt thing going on. I had to lie under the hand dryer in the ladies before I could risk a lesson with year 11 boys!!

:D
Another message from my twin. He's having a good time so far, is enjoying the puzzles and has solved a couple of them! :D

 Honestly, I ask you. Goes to the beautiful Lake District (without me I might add, even though I did offer to stow away in his luggage) and what does he do? Puzzles.

Well, today I've been enjoying my last Christmas-carol-free day for a long while. Orchestra's back tomorrow, and we have to start rehearsing for the carol service, or the poor little love's won't be able to play them!
