I will be doing mine at the end of the month, just to annoy my best friend> I have got him to hit his door mat on Dec 1st for 30 years, so lets hope Royal mail helps me out again this year.

Talking of royal mail a post van delivered a patient to our fracture unit today, didn't even have a stamp on his head.

I had to fish an old man out of the road today (he'd just fallen into it). I asked if he was ok and could I take him to the hospital, no he said, take me to the pub!! (Which is where he'd obviously been already, hence the falling over!!)

strep, I think you did what I did - read CarOLs as CarDs!

I remember having to do those carols early when I was at school/uni. Always seemed silly to be doing anything to do with Christmas before December, but when carol services have to be held before the end of terms, there isn't really a choice.

Now cards I never do till the last minute! Might have to start doing them early this year though as I suspect I'll keep getting distracted while doing them!

yesterday I was mostly..... removing bits of brocolli from our sofa after Thomas had his first taste of it, liked it, but did have to drop lots of little bits of green all over the place (and all over his face as well). Wish I'd got a photo!

We're going to be starting them tomorrow in band at school, so I suppose that's a 'tomorrow I mostly bin'. We started christmas pieces at the beginning of October in orchestra, but we only have a rehearsal every two weeks!

Oh and in choir at school they started christmassy songs in september!

I would have thought that the band would have needed to start earlier than choir (which is how it works at my school) because there is more to learn and it is harder to keep in tune but ... I guess I would say that as an instrumentalist.

And while we are on the theme of songs...
Tomorrow, I have the joy of walking down to the nearest church and sitting through the founders day service at my school, which is rather boring. We were practising the hymns today and the teacher was rating us out of ten for enthusiasticness expecting us to get about 9 or even 10. Unfortunately we only scored a 3/10. My insentive to get through it is that Giraffe says I can get a toastie from subway before getting the bus home after the ceremony as it finishes at lunchtime and we are then free to go home.

  That's the best way with you teenagers - food bribery!!

Mind you Giraffe I wouldn't feed them too much or they'll so something nasty like growing out of their trousers. My son grew 8 inches taller in one year!!

I think Fernando is trying that one. At the beginning of the year he was a good 4 inches shorter than Kingsley, but they are now abotu the same height.

The bribery is to get him to the bus stop rather than into the town for aimless wandering and terrorising of shopkeepers! The whole school seem to spend the afternoon wandering the city centre and being very silly, I'd rather he came home and terrorised me. I just feel sorry for the shopkeepers having a sudden influx of 650 teenagers to cope with on one afternoon. Some of Fernando's friends managed to get themselves thrown out of Poundland a couple of years ago by asking the price of just about every item in there. Harmless, but very annoying.

I believe that those friends in question are returning to poundland today to get a load of bargains but they will probably think of something equally as fun to do.

sounds like Cornwall to me.

Welcome back.

I spent four hours this morning at the garage (they told me the service would take 2 hours), I was frozen stiff by the time they'd finished as people kept opening the waiting room door and letting the fog in. I played with those blasted battleships and got nowhere (no Scurra I'm not discussing a puzzle in the wrong place, honest  ) and did a couple of outside puzzles. Then they charged me an arm and a leg for the pleasure. :(

Now trying to thaw my feet out.

Welcome back MBH. :D
And yes, it is beautiful, even in the rain (that's what it did to us when we were there last year). But then if you think about it logically, that'll be why it's got LAKES in it.  (Yes I know it's really because it's been glaciated, before you all tell me off, I did do A level geography too! But there are very high rainfall rates for that area - that's why the lakes stay topped up!! 929.2 mm rainfall last year in that area.)

One of my most favourite places on Earth is Castlerigg in the lakedistrict.

That stunning setting is every bit as beautiful from ALL directions. It is a very special place. But then I like bleak places with lots of hills, not everyone's taste, I'll grant you.

Oh, I'd love to go there. Everyone I go away with is fed up of me taking them to look at archaeological monuments!

...I've mostly bin
being off work for only the second time in the past 10 years. Sitting on the sofa in a heap in my dressing gown feeling sorry for myself. Hey ho, I'm usually spectacularly physically healthy*, so I can't really moan. But I will anyway.

Get well soon Bunny!

that's a pretty good attendance record you've got there!

today I've mostly bin...
trying to find a dentist!
Need some work doing quick, but, because there's no nerve there, I'm not in pain, so it doesn't count as an emergency....
Not registered with a dentist, but luckily there's one locally who's taking on new patients. Just hope what's left of my tooth lasts until my appointment! Mind you, since I don't have to pay for treatment for the next 6 months, I'd better get everything I need doing done quick!
