Except when she tried to crash the car.

In her haste to pull out at a junction in front of a tractor, instead of waiting to the bit of the road where the traffic should merge, she drove straight over the central reservation and after a bit of crashing and bouncing we skidded to a halt in front of the tractor!

She then said that it was because the sun was in her eyes.

Well we do wonder why we leave Grandma in charge, she is more than a little eccentric. It seems to be the children who are Grandma sitting these days rather than the other way round.

Wow Giraffe - you sound like you've been having lots of fun - lucky girl! :D

And don't you worry about Grandma and the kids - they'll be dining out on that story for a good few weeks yet...

...I've mostly bin
visiting the hippy dippies in Wiltshire (boat dwelling dreadlock brigade). Still, it was a lovely sunny day and I managed to get on the boat without falling in, so all was well. Had a reasonable pub lunch and some nice birthday cake too. :D

.... running round like a mad thing getting my bedroom ready for recupperation :( Shopping for all the 'heavy things' like bottled pop, tins, etc (since I'm the only car driver). And generally not thinking about tomorrow.

Thaks to all for your good wishes - I'll let you know when I'm back with you :)

Haven't heard anything yet - I assume he's sleeping it off, poor love. I will report back as soon as I hear how he is.

I've mostly bin...
going to hear my niece's band at a pub in Watford. Not quite on the same level as Muse, I must say  !! But nonetheless interesting. http://www.myspace.com/gomonaco

today or tonight i am keeping an eye on my son...

today at school the children that travel in via Kings cross bought a load of free samples left at the station of Lucozade alert into school - its suppose to be over 16's and a bit like red bull but stronger - anyway poor teachers - a load of hypeactive kids high on caffeine. some 12 year olds had so much they passed out and had to go to hospital and the rest made it home without telling the teachers but I am not sure how well they will sleep tonight. I am so sure the teachers must have noticed the difference with the children. - poor things - my worse knightmare would be to look after children high on lucozade.

Not holding out for Josh getting a good nights sleep tonight - but he is certainly v alert.

.... sleeping off and on :D

Thanks for all the nice thoughts. Operation went fine, and I'll know how things feel when all the swelling goes down inside my nose.

They did do the 'sinus drain from the outside' that the doctor planned - you you know that phrase "I need **** like a hole in the head"? Well I've got an extra couple of holes in the head - not fun.

Actually it's like a pain induced Botox treatment - can't frown  , can't raise and eyebrow in curiosity ;) but I can still SMILE  It's true about needing less muscles to smile than frown - and I always was lazy

My lovely E-Sister has been keeping in touch, and I've felt very cared for. Just need to keep my wounds dry and infection free until they heal, and stop falling asleep for the odd couple of hours at random :( Getting a fair bit of reading done, but no puzzling yet.

Off now to read all the threads I've been missing.

...ACHING
Like an idiot, I decided to go running with my daughter yesterday. I haven't run for about 30 years. I virtually needed resuscitation when I got back!! (I told LAT this earlier, I think she was quite shocked!)

I won't be doing that again in a hurry!! I shall return to the semi vegetative state I prefer, slumped on the sofa armed with a laptop, some puzzles and a glass of red wine. Much better for me. I'm exercising my BRAIN (although Scurra may disagree) and doesn't red wine contain ANTIOXIDANTS? What a great keep fit regime that is.

Just shocked at the idea of running. I needed to have a good sit-down to recover. :D

Going for a run, what will you try next bunny?
I'm still limping following my accident so there's no way I'll walk too far at the moment, running is certainly not something to consider.

The second option sounds better to me, specially on a day like today all grey and cold and gloomy.

Yes, that was a lovely surprise. I got this lovely Devon accent down the phone saying "Hello, it's your Fishy Friend here!!" :D :D
