I've spent all day in the house waiting for City Link to deliver a parcel from Amazon. How many of you think it arrived?

Yes, I think the majority of you got that right - NO.

Having spent 20 minitues on the phone whilst Amazon tried to sort out where it was - the delivery dweeb said he tried to deliver it at 16.12, strange that no note was put through the door or that I didn't see him as that was the time my OH arrived home and I opened the door to let him in. I'd even asked if he'd seen a CL van on his travels - NO. I then spent 20 minutes on the phone to CL (phone number given to me by Amazon) and they had the cheek to email me a picture of my front door taken on Saturday 21st when they first tried to deliver it saying it was taken this afternoon, the date gave it away. At 16.12 today it was nearly dark, Saturdays photo taken in daylight.

Heaven only knows where they tried to deliver it today. If it doesn't get here tomorrow I think i'll tell amazon what to do with it and CL.

Today I accidentally invited a complete stranger, who came to ask about my gas and electricity supply, in.

It was 6.45 and the piano teacher was 5 minutes late, so when the doorbell went I flung the door open (without turning the outside light on) and called "Hello, come in" The poor young man was left speechless! When I explained I thought he was someone else he said "I don't usually get that good a welcome!" He looked almost relieved when I told him to go away.

Giraffe...
I did that once with the Ocado man. I'd complained about some out of date chicken they'd sent me. But I also had the gas men in replacing the meter, who felt the need to keep my front door wide open (it was winter). I put the door on the latch and was feeling generally grumpy and ill humoured about the whole thing because I had to have the heating turned off and I was freezing, when the doorbell rang. I stropped to the front door and said
"Just come in and get on with it. I can't be bothered to keep coming in and out." *and left him in the hall.

About 5 minutes later, there was a timid knock at the living room door. I opened it and he said "Errr, did you want this chicken?"

"Oh, sorry, I replied, I thought you were the gas man". He momentarily glanced down at his brightly coloured Ocado uniform, thought better of it, and ran away. I'm not too sure what he thought I wanted the gas man to get on with...

It does sound rather like a porn movie plot, doesn't it?? And I do like to think I looked particularly attractive in my track suit, wooly jumper, coat, slippers and hat...

It's SO easy, Chazzie. You just lie. Then you get a lovely print out telling you you're wonderful.

Actually I am a grumpy old bat. :D

The neurotic bit was me though. ;)

What are you painting, Kathlyn? I'd love to see a photo of some of your pictures some time...

A little dutch boy (in full dutch outfit) sniffing a tulip at the edge of a hugefield of tulips.

I'd need lessons for getting photos on to here

Ur, you're asking the wrong person here (techinically challenged doesn't cover it) BUT...

I THINK you just scroll down on your post, then click "browse" next to Filename. That brings up a list of your files - find your picture, double click on the file to select it, then click "add the file". You'll get a blue line coming up for a bit while it downloads for a few seconds. Then just click "submit" and it should be there. If it's outrageously large I expect some kind passing jester would be able to resize it for you?? (Hope that's ok, Scurra?)
