Re: Word Zendo
Novice SparkOut, the orange is indeed refreshing, and the lemon is indeed reviled for its bitter taste. But though you have made a step forward, you seem to make a retrograde step as well. The Buddha doth admire Shoreditch, but Stepney is of no consequence.
Novice Laura, I am afraid that your offer of sweet food has not impressed the Buddha. He is, however, tempted by something savoury.
And remember I am but a teacher, not a master.

Good teacher, your wisdom is indeed notable.
I am interested to find out about your taste in music. I suspect that you may be a fan of rock-and-roll rather than, perhaps, disco?

Re: Word Zendo
Novice Scurra, I personally have a rather eclectic taste in music (which I won't go into here).
But you are indeed progressing towards enlightenment, as rock-and-roll music doth sound pleasant to the Buddha, rather than the discordant noise of disco.

Re: Word Zendo
Then good teacher, may I enquire whether the Buddha would instruct that a zebra is better for being striped, while a camel just has the hump? In the meantime, perhaps you would offer him these nuts, which I would hope he finds more pleasing than a melon?
May I also humbly request a boon, that the teacher would restate and maintain the word list on the current page?

Re: Word Zendo
Esteemed teacher might I enquire whether the Buddha has a preference for Sudokus or Jigsaws or indeed whether he likes all puzzles.

Re: Word Zendo
From the previous page:
Humbly I take up the mantle.
However, I am uncertain whether I will be worthy of my position. Such doubts clearly reveal to me that the Buddha does not wish me to be known as master but as more of a teacher.
But enough: the Buddha doth commune with the cycles of nature, and in particular the weather. But whereas the sun, as source of all light, is blessed, rain is not favoured. The wind is good, but preferably as a gentle breeze than a howling gale.
Buddha adores:
bananas; breeze; nuts; hot food; orange; rock-and-roll; savoury; Shoreditch; sudokus; sun; teacher; warm meats; wind
Buddha abhors:
apples; camel; disco; gale; jigsaws; lemon; master; melon; puzzles; Stepney; sweet; rain; zebra; zobo; zebub
Buddha admires:
Scurra (x2)
SparkOut (x2)

Re: Word Zendo
Novice Sparkout, I feel you are confused. Neither the zebra nor the camel find favour with the Buddha. But he welcomes the nuts, and definitely ignores the melon.
Novice LAT, the Buddha is not in favour of all puzzles. He definitely prefers sudokus as they follow the path of reasoning, whereas jigsaws do cause frustration as pieces so easily get lost.

Re: Word Zendo
may my humble offerings tempt you perhaps hot food would appeal more than warm meats and as for animals maybe a zobo could be a companion but not a zebub. I hope that my choices meet your criteria o learned one.

Re: Word Zendo
I am afraid, novice kathlyn, that neither the zobo nor the zebub prove useful companions, and that the Buddha doth approve of both the hot food and the warm meats.

Re: Word Zendo
Most honourable teacher, I wish to propose that the Buddha has a favourable response to words with an odd numbering of vowels in them, such as virtually everything in this post!
(sadly, I think the red denotes invalid words!)

Verily, it is so. I now vacate my position and allow Scurra to take my place.
Please take thy robe, and impart to us the wisdom of the Buddha.

Re: Word Zendo
Hmmm. I think this robe is a little loose around the middle for me.
Anyway, where was I? Oh yes.
Greetings, o students in search of wisdom. As your new Master, I am understandably keen to impart the knowledge I have learned on my travels. In my quest for enlightenment, I discovered that (as you may have surmised already), apples are far more appreciated than bananas, but also that eggs are far more attractive than bacon.
Buddha-boom:
apples eggs giraffes paddles
Buddha-bust:
arsenic bananas bacon camels cold creek gelignite hot loose tight
Budda-knows:
giraffe SparkOut

The robe looks fine on you O master!
Might I enquire as to your preference for Giraffes over camels when travelling through the desert?

Re: Word Zendo
Welcome Master, although it may not be eco-friendly, if your robe is not fitting snugly enough, you may find that putting it in the hot wash may help it to shrink it to size. On the other hand, that may lead to it being too tight.
As to the real enquiry, may I humbly ask of the Buddha whether he would prefer to paddle his boat rather than be stuck up a creek?

Re: Word Zendo
Well, there's no fooling these bright students.
Yes, the Buddha does look kindly on giraffes and, indeed, paddles. But he feels that neither camels nor the creek are suitable for his needs. As for the facetious comment about being hot and tight?! Words fail him.

Re: Word Zendo
I would humbly like to (mutters under breath something about the irksomeness of having to grovel to Scurra and refer to him as master) offer you gelignite, or would you prefer arsenic?
You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

Re: Word Zendo
I was humbly wondering if the Buddha doesn't like to be called hot and tight, whether he would prefer to be known as cold and loose
Re: Word Zendo
And there I was, thinking I'd got a brighter than usual crowd.
No, my dear students. The master frowns on gelignite, arsenic, cold and loose.

As there is so often an offering of fruit, Ithought I would try vegetables for a change. But I am uncertain whether to offer a cabbage or a cauliflower.

Could I then tempt you with False Hellebore, or Hemlock?
