I haven't posted a picture of myself on here for ages  (Sorry.)

I'm sure Wulfruna thought you were a gorgeous treasure once upon a time. That feeling does tend to wear off (I used to think my son was a gorgeous treasure, now he's a great big galoot!!). I still love him to bits though. :D

I must say it was fun having my trip down to Devon armed with the tintacs though...

recovering.

It's hard work all this having fun and eating too much malarkey, isn't it? Hope everyone had a good Christmas and Father Christmas brought everything they wanted. :D Oh yeah, and that you all did lots of praying and stuff... :D I'm afraid (yes, I know, heathen) I'm of the "winter festival" school rather than the "celebrating the birth of Jesus" school of thought. But whatever you've all been doing I hope it was lovely and meant something special to you. To me it was very much an occasion to get together with family and celebrate having lots of people together who love each other. Wonderful. :D

Shall I stop being a soppy moo now? ;)

....recovering.

More a case of tolerating the eccentric relatives here, with a bit of celebrating the birth of Jesus too. The church choir on Christmas eve wasn't up to much, so I decided to join in with the descant to one verse of a carol. (I'm not entirely sure I was singing the same descant  , but perhaps they were singing the wrong one  ) We had decided the children are too old for the crib service, so went to the longer carol service instead and the church was packed, and a good few headed straight for the pub opposite on leaving. Yesterday we went to the theatre, to see A Christmas Carol, which was very good.

1. Walking in the rain
2. Sliding on the even more slippery wet ice in the rain
3. Having icy winds blow the freezing rain into my face
4. Squelching through the mud
5. Going for a well earned pub lunch
6. Staying in the pub far too long (steaming because of the wet clothes)
7. Drinking far too much
8. Making myself even more stupid than usual by having lots of sugar (worse than alcohol for me, I become a total head case)
9. Sliding home, being even louder and more lary than usual and narrowly avoiding the canal and the cress beds at extreme speed (owing to the excess sugar).
10. Coming home and finding all my missing Christmas cards in a big pile. What a lovely surprise!! :D :D

1. Some of the above ;)
2. Dealing with the flood from the pipe that decided to burst this morning when the temp is 5C -as opposed to the non burst pipes when it was -2C :? I'm sure someone can explain that but it's beyond me.
3. Sorting out the hair for the next 3 months because I have a wonderful hairdresser and no-one else gets a pair of scissors anywhere near my hair but Julie now. I'd drive the 164 mile round trip if necessary - and she only charges £5 for a cut!!!
4. Lending an ear to someone who knows Dad isn't going to see in 2010. That was sad.
5. Being conned into driving today :D I thought I'd cracked it- drop me off at hairdressers and pick me up. Instead I got dropped off and then a text to tell me where the car was parked and I'll ring you when I need picked up. I must remember that one!!! Brilliant move.

Try drying it thoroughly first. Kingsley's is still going strong months after it went through the washing machine.

I took it to the shop and they tested it. It has officiall died. Ended up having to buy a pay as you go phone. Only good news is that my sim survived this time (with my numbers on it - so if anyone was hoping I'd lost their number, no, I haven't!!!)

coming home slowly... only 7 lots of roadworks on the way, and most of the M6 clogged up with traffic. Took about an hour longer than it did to get down to Devon on Christmas Day!
Still got snow and ice on the ground here, and two cold cats really glad to see us!

...coming back from seeing family in Somerset, in record time 2hrs 5mins, hardly any traffic on the roads, why can't it always be like that. The grandsons were great fun.

it's always good to give them back  we looked after them for a few hours yesterday whilst the parents went to the shops. all went well until they had a fight over who's turn it was on the wii. took 15 mins to get the 3 yr old back out of his sulk.

...not sorting out the on-line version of the new puzzles. Sorry. :)

I went to see the fireworks last night and the big parade today. Very enjoyable, if a bit cold.
