I think I have bought them. Seem to have an email saying so.

I'm shocked that they can store the cards without telling me, anybody could have been shopping on them. It didn't even tell me which card it was taking the money from, I'd have thought as they had two they should have given me a choice. I hate paypal.

i find it useful :-D
digging out a seldom used prepay card which only gets the specific money to pay for something so running into debt is impossible and the card i use is covered as a cresit card even though its pre pay ;-)
mastercard too so widely accepted ;-)

I got a rude awekening a while ago too. If you use a debit card to make a payment that you think is on a direct debit its got a good chance of not being so. Even when the card expires it makes no difference. Just so long as they have bank details they can take money forever. All you can do is hope that putting something in writing will stop withdrawals- other than that you have no option but to close your bank account and start again. I'm not talking about paypal either- this is Lloydtsb and any other bank you care to name. Frightening!

is that a direct debit or using a debit card?

direct debits are covered by the direct debit guarantee

for info they deal with debit cards in a diff bit too

Thats using a debit card for a regular payment. ie. OH subscribtion to Tottenhams live site. Can you cancel it via the bank- no way.

The scenario for those who are now confused.

OH wanted live access to Tottenhams site ( Why is beyond me- even he agrees its rubbish) Initial payment 3.99 and then 3.99 per month. He paid with our debit card. That isn't a direct debit- they just filch the money every month. Unless they agree to stop there is naff all you can do about it - apart from close your account. In this case they did agree to stop.

Well I was just going to look online myself. It says put the memory card from the camera in the appropriate slot. I assumed this meant that there were different slots for different sized cards (like on the computer printer), but there is only one slot and I nearly lost the whole card in it earlier!

It's a Linx Digital Photo Frame Memoire8B

I wondered if this might be the problem. The thing is that there are several different sorts of memory cards, and it sounds to me as though Murphy's Adage has struck again :)

In other words, we probably need to know the camera make as well...

The camera is a Sony and the memory card is Sony Memory stick Pro Duo MS-MT4G

It says it takes SD / MMC / MS / XD so I would have thought it was an MS and therefore should fit the hole. It looks about the same size as the one in my old camera (although I haven't measured them against each other) and that one is SD I think. :?

I have managed to connect the camera to the frame using a cable, but what I really want to know is can you store the pictures on the frame, rather than having to have either the card or the camera plugged into it, either of which is slightly inconvenient. I assume you can, but the manual doesn't actually say that.

The remote control has 28 buttons on it, so it is rather complicated.

Digital frames don't normally have internal memory; they just use the cards. (Having just checked, this one doesn't either.)
The solution to that is probably to get a USB stick and use it to store the pictures, although it won't look particularly stylish :)

I can't work out what your problem with the card reader is though - it should handle a memory stick fine. Then again, sticking a card into an unknown reader for the first time is often slightly unnerving.

The hole is just a lot bigger than the card. I don't know whether to align it with the left side of the hole, the middle, or the right side. When I pushed it in earlier the whole thing went in, and didn't click home at all, then I had nothing to grab to pull it out again. I thought it was stuck in there! I eventually managed to wiggle it out with the edge of my fingernail. (phew)

It says you can copy files between connected memory devices. Perhaps I need to buy another card that fits the hole and copy the files off the camera onto that? At the moment the only way I can see the pictures is to have the camera hanging out of the side of the frame and surely that can't be right. Also it seems to have drained the battery on the camera and now that needs charging again. It seems far easier to me to just print the pictures out of the computer, but then I suppose I'm a technophobe.

I've found a couple of 'reviews' that can sometimes be a good source of information.

http://www.testseek.com/cameras/digital ... 5f922.html

One comment that stands out:
There is no internal memory, however with the price of memory cards this really isn't an issue!
.... so buying (or finding an un-needed) memory card to stay within the frame is one way forward.

It does mention that it is a 4-in-1 card reader - so what you have should fit in some way. If it is so tiny, are there any 'frames' supplied for the card to fit into before it plugs into the slot?

Yes that looks like the memory stick, and the adapter looks useful, but I still don't really want to leave the camera with no memory caqrd in it, so I think buying another card to put in the frame is probably the way to go. If they only wrote the instructions in plain English you would know what you had to do. Nice fat instruction booklet, but only about 8 of the pages are in English and it's pigeon English at that!
