Oh it's good I reckon - he'll be remembered fondly for years.

Nah, I expect all the ones who're training to be psychiatrists are desperately hoping they can use him as a case study...

... watching last night's Dr Who (and the behind-the-scenes show) on the iPlayer.

Very enjoyable, and a good start with a new cast of characters :)

(I know there's a dedicated Dr Who thread - but that's what I've mostly bin doin' today :P )

Well, I didn't watch it. That new bloke gives me the creeps. Rather a shame after David Tennant - he has a lot of charisma. (Waits for torrent of abuse)...

It was very entertaining - exactly the same and yet completely different. Which is what Doctor Who excels at.
Matt Smith is very good indeed; within about ten minutes you've forgotten Tennant completely. Which is also what the show excels at - yours is a really rubbish excuse, Bunny...
Basically once the giant eyeball has completely freaked you out, you're pretty much hooked.

It was fun to learn that the TARDIS apparently excretes Sonic Screwdrivers though.

I knew WHO I'd get the torrent of abuse from. My bet was Scurra 1, closely followed by metal dog 2? (Gosh, he's being slow... )

Is this where I admit to finding David Tennant creepy?
I saw him in something (can't remember what now) a year or so before he became the Doctor and found him so creepy I couldn't face watching Doctor Who

Did manage to bring myself to watch him in Hamlet when it was on TV over Christmas though.

Yes, I like it when you abuse me. Clearly. But you'll have to put a little more effort in.

:o :o (To LAT )Isn't that weird? What do you think about the new bloke? I thought he was pasty and nerdy. :D

The giraffe family didn't watch either. (No real surprise there) The two medium sized giraffes just turned their noses up at Dr Who, and the smallest giraffe said she didn't like his floppy bit of hair at the front.

(One of the medium sized giraffes can no longer acurately be described as medium sized as he is as tall as Mummy giraffe. )

We did watch Jonathon Creek and enjoyed that, shame the windmill wasn't in it .

Yes, I watched that (and missed the windmill) but what a silly story that was!!

Oh, I've taped Jonathan Creek. I used to watch it with my little sister when we were teenagers, and we used to go up to bed holding hands afterwards, we're both such wimps! Therefore, I am going to watch this one early in the morning, so I have time to recover before bedtime, and hopefully won't have a weeks' worth of nightmares!

Jonathan Creek is back on is it? Which side and time?? I used to enjoy the early stories from that show. A lesson in 'practical puzzling' ;)

It was a one-off last night on BBC1 so you might have to watch it on iPlayer now.

OK, I'll bite. How on earth does a cat "fall into" a pond?!

Trying to catch a fish?

That reminds me of when Luna was a kitten and she got out of the house before she was meant to be allowed out. After about half an hour of three of us trying to catch her she darted away from my OH and leapt into our pond!! She was only about three months old at the time and looked just like a drowned rat when she emerged.
Mind you she didn't learn as she went into the pond again a few months later.

I'm not 100% sure, but I THINK she was either a) standing on the edge trying to get a drink or possibly b) trying to catch herself a ghost koi carp* with her paw and overbalanced...

We just heard the splash and saw the evidence!

She has actually managed this before when my other neighbour was cleaning out her pond and had her koi carp in the paddling pool. All I heard was"____ _____!! (cat's name, my surname) put that down NOW!" Too late. £200 worth of fish for lunch.
