.... looking after Thomas.
Sigur has been on the phone to insurers/solicitors all day - he'd dropped me off at the tram stop to go to work and was driving home with Thomas in the back when a lorry decided to pull into his lane.... pushed our car (using Thomas's door as a lever) along the road a bit, just missing some traffic lights.... :o :o

Luckily Thomas is fine and doesn't seem to be any the worse for his ordeal, but you can imagine how much worse Sigur's shock was than it would have been if it had just been him in the car...

what's most frustrating though is that none of the witnesses stopped, so although the lorry driver admitted full responsibility at the scene, you can bet the insurance company will dispute it.

Oh how frightening for all of you. That'll take a while to get over.

When he was about 6 Fernando was in a car that had a puncture and left the road, flying through a hedge and rolling over a couple of times, coming to rest on it's roof. Fortunately the three little boys and friend's mum who was driving were all ok, but rather shaken . F was left hanging by his seat belt upside down after all his friends had crawled out and the only mark on him was a triangular bruise on his back, that matched a muddy mark on his T-shirt, where he landed in the field when he released his seatbelt. The one in the worst state was the husband of the lady driving who was in the car behind with 3 more boys as they were all going on a birthday treat. He was hysterical having seen the whole thing thinking his wife and all the boys must be dead!

Fortunately children are quite resilliant, and Thomas won't even remember today.

Ouch. Don't make a habit of it, will you?

Glad to know everyone is OK though.

update - Thomas is physically fine. However he did have a nightmare last night and woke at 10.30 and refused to be comforted until we finally tried one of his toys which vibrates (don't laugh, yes, it is one of *his* toys) and that did the job - he finally fell asleep at midnight. Slept through peacefully then till morning though, so that was a relief!
Sigur has whiplash and has aggrivated his already bad back, so has to be really careful how he moves, which isn't easy when you are looking after an active 11 month old who's becoming more and more confident on his feet...

But then, it could have been so much worse, so we are counting our blessings (which we do anyway everytime we look at our little miracle) and taking painkillers!
Thanks for all the thoughts.

Tell Sigur he needs to get himself referred for physiotherapy as soon as possible for that. I suffered for about 6 months with whiplash before finally giving in and seeing them; the exercises and manipulation worked really well and helped a lot. I ended up wishing I'd gone a lot sooner!

(Mind you, ladies, IF I had realised just how gorgeous the male physiotherapist was I'd CERTAINLY have gone immediately... how good is that? A handsome man being PAID by the national health to give me a shoulder massage?? )

Trying to continue with the Mums hunt puzzles and then realising they had posted the answers. Still, we didn't do too badly, did we? Congratulations to SparkOut's team too. :D

ynysafari as it happens ;)

I wasn't really on the team this time, I only had chance to briefly look in on the first day. But yes, that probably helped them a bit being without me. We have a secret weapon on our team, we have an Esme.

Yeah, go on SparkOut. You know you really want to sabbotage them and join us, don't you?  It strikes me that if they have an Esme, then surely we should be allowed a SparkOut in return? It's only fair... Our team had a Bunny, who spent most of the time misdirecting people...
