so next week just suggest instead of doing exercises you all take it in turns to tell jokes or relate funny stories. I bet you'll all go home feeling great! :D

I can never remember jokes. And I'm rubbish at telling funny stories!! I try to tell them and end up laughing myself so I can't finish telling them. And then people don't find them funny anyway. So I suppose I'll have to put up with keep fit.

I'm back from Brownie Pack Holiday! Survived the weekend just about. All the Brownies enjoyed looking out across the hills at the cows in the fields, which were very loud. We had paddling pools out in the little back garden, and everyone got absolutely soaked, and I got sunburnt!
 literally!

I was the only one who needed first aid treatment (had migraine all day today - not fun with 12 little screachy girls), no one was sent home, either for bad behaviour, homesickness, or generally being ill. Everyone ate plenty, and giggled a lot, so I'd say the weekend was a success!

Well, one threw a bit of a wobbler yesterday, but it was mostly due to exhaustion (asleep at 11, up at 5  ). The rest were brilliant. They particularly enjoyed the angel delight and squirty cream face painting!!! Some of them are such quiet, polite, well-behaved little things when they turn up on the Friday night. We've thoroughly corrupted them by Sunday tea-time. Taught them things like, how to consume a yogurt without a spoon etc.

That's exactly what weekends like that are for, aren't they! Teaching them the sort of things they really need to know, but won't learn anywhere else   Keep up the good work!

Laura, I'm putting Lally on the next train, so that you can sort her out for me. She desperately needs some self confidence. (And to know that it's ok to walk around wearing ice cream!)

  Looby certainly tried to detract from the chocolate ice cream...(she spent the afternoon walking around the town with a napkin tucked under her chin)!!

She'll blossom out of her shyness soon, Giraffe. She's a real sweetie pie. You'll be moaning that she won't shut up before long...

... enjoying the first day of my week (and a bit) off work. Sun just breaking through, but not too hot, will always be something on tv to watch (yes, that silly game where people kick something spherical around a bit of grass). we might manage a couple of days out, but the main plan is to get round to all those bits of housework that usually get forgotten (you know, like hoovering!). If I also seem to find plenty of time to go and play on the swings, that's an added bonus!
So don't expect any puzzlesolving from me this week - I don't have time when I'm not at work

Have a great week eirian! Have fun on those swings. :D

I got a new computer at work today and spent half the day trying to work out how to do all the stuff that's normally almost second nature to me. Maybe tomorrow I will get some work done.

This evening I have had a very interesting meal with a certain friend.

We had meet*, two veg, gravy, rhubarb crumble, custard, coffee and mints, and brandy.

And someone knows what I am talking about. ;) We are hoping several of you will join us.

* before anyone comments, I have spelt it this way deliberately.

Scribing for exams. Ethics and Philosophy this morning (poor year 10 lad having to dictate his answers to me all about "What is contraception?" and " Discuss the Christian viewpoint on sexual relationships" - he was bright red for most of the exam as you can imagine!!)

History this afternoon: with a very able student who had me writing 10 fullscap pages!!!! (And my writing is fairly closely packed, maybe about 10+ words per line). I have a huge blister. I think I should claim industrial injury, what do you think?

I am SOOOOOO fed up with exams. Sick to the back teeth with them. I haven't done ANY of my "real" job for months (which I LIKE and am GOOD at. :( )

Ok today has been a complete rollercoaster of emotions.

Went to a funeral of my son's best friend's dad today. It was so upsetting when my son's friend stood up to speak - he could hardly get the words out he was so choked. He was a lovely, lovely man too.

BUT then - got a phone call from my daughter to say she's got a job as a primary school teacher to start in September!!! YAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :D :D :D Off to celebrate!!

Good end to the day Bunny.

today we've been celebrating 10 years of marriage. Been back to the hotel we got married at. Hardly changed at all - still a beautiful place and the rhododendrons were gorgeous. Really nice meal (from M&S) tonight for tea - including a bottle of wine that's been sitting on our wine rack for 8 or so years waiting for a suitable occasion (15 year old bottle of rioja - absolutely gorgeous!). Beautiful weather (ie, sunny but not too hot), so all in all a pretty good day.
