I am fairly sure this is what it is cos there is no flashing light. And the little instruction booklet says that 3 beeps indicates an end of life warning. I just wish it would die quietly.

Otherwise there must be a lot of carbon monoxide under my son's duvet.

I haven't tried taking it outside, what a good way to annoy the neighbours. It says there are 3 AA batteries in it but there is no way to get at them. A hammer is very tempting.

3 beeps indicates an end of life warning.
Well get out QUICKLY!!!

Why don't you put it in a bowl of water? That'd finish it off...

This thread was addressed to "Clever s*ds", not "Dancing Bunnies". So if you take advice from them, you deserve what you get. :D

Flippin' cheek!! How do you know I'm not a carbon monoxide alarm expert?

And I am good at some things. It's just you'll NEVER get to know what they are because I keep them well hidden and secret. :D

LAT the solution is clear....get yourself a vuvuzela, then you won't hear it the rest of the time.

You do realise that the word "vuvuzela" is going to start appearing in puzzles a lot, don't you? It's a fantastic word because it's got odd letters in an odd combination... :D

Someone bought Fernando one for his birthday, and of course as a French horn player it appealed to him, to see what he could actually play on it apart from a B flat.

They remind me of a swarm of hornets when they're all going off in a match. And that thought had occurred to me as well, Scurra. Aaaaargh please don't let me turn into mini Scurra...!!

A letter in The Times said that VUVUZELA may be an irritant to football fans but it's great for Scrabble players.

stop press: OH managed to get hold of the manufacturers/distributors of the CO alarm yesterday after about an hour of being passed from one person to another. A new alarm was duly ordered and, much more importantly, he was told the secret of how to disable the old one. :D
And the new alarm arrived this morning. :D

Are there two Vs in a scrabble set? I'd have guessed at that being one of the letters like Q, X and Z that are only there once.
