Hi All,

Its quite exciting........as per below they are republishing in a 'best of' edition..I was originally in Woman so being in the Chat version may reach other rwaders....... see below the email posted. According to my contcat she has never known this happen before.

Hi Jo,

Your article in Woman last year has been picked as one of the best of the year!
Plus they want to republish it in a special Best Of edition - see email below. A great achievement and a huge boost to ChildLine.

Are you are ok with them republishing it?
Where they any concerns about this piece? I have a copy on file if you want me to send one over?
The piece also features a pics of Julie Crossan (copied in), a section of your original written letter to ChildLine and a pic of you and your mum.
Let me know your thoughts...

cheers
Cath

Hi Sherylin, We put together the Special editions of Chat and Pick Me Up magazine. I'm currently working on an upcoming Best Of Chat edition, which goes on sale June 17. The Best Of editions contain a selection of some of the best and strongest stories previously published in various IPC magazines during the past six months to a year.
And we'd really like to re-publish the story of Jo Oldbury, 'The call that saved my life', which appeared in Woman issue 9, 2/3/09.

It was such a strong story, we think it's a great choice to put in the Best Of edition.

Of course, we want to check that Jo is happy about this. It would be the same story, so she wouldn't have to do another interview or anything. We'd happily send Jo and yourselves a copy of the magazine once it's out, too.

Do you think this would be ok? I'd be happy to have a chat with Jo about it, if she wants. Would you be able to get in touch with her firstly to ask?

Thanks very much for your time.

Best wishes

Abi

Thanks for sharing this with us, Jo and Clvrlad. It is great that this has been published for a wider audience and I hope it helps other people too. These issues need to be brought into the open.

Thank you Wulfruna - it is something I really enjoy doing (although that might sound a bit strange).. There have been some comments posted on the NSPCC Facebook page which was a nice surprise.
