I'm in the library at Hendon, and they have a works experience lad in - I'm printing that out to show the staff

Has he been dancing provokatively in the library too? Or was that just you?

Kingsley is doing work experience this week. She's absolutely loving it at a woodwind and brass repair shop. I thought she would be answering the phone and sweeping the floor, but so far she has repaired seven clarinets. She is sick to death of Radio 2 though, which they have on all day

Cor, that's impressive!!

Next time I see you I'll be armed with a saxophone for her to service then...?

Radio two seems to waver between being fairly ok to being dreadful IMHO. I sometimes listen to Radio London - I like the Danny Baker show - in fact I've rung in and been on the show. It was all about my brother in law putting wheels on a pigeon, but that's another story.

She's been told to take her own clarinet in on Friday and they'll give it a check up. She was a bit surprised that they let her loose with a blow torch and razor blades on her first morning.

She's had a teacher come out and do the checks you were doing, and the teacher enquired about getting her clarinet serviced while she was there.

I wonder what the teacher wrote about the health and safety bit?

My niece worked in a pharmacy when she did it and wasn't allowed to handle money, but there were no restictions on them handling drugs.

That is bizarre!
My two both went to France for a week's work experience to help their language skills. My daughter worked in a (very modern

) art gallery, mainly helping to translate stuff for their website. One comment from her was on the staff talking about the gallery being very cold "of course it's cold she commented, one of the exhibits is a hole in the wall!!"
My son worked in a sports shop helping to deal with the customers and restring tennis rackets.

(as part of my btec) the strange thing was degree students were doing the same work experience as me and could do less...

I recall asking to be placed in a nursery (as in plants) and got KIDS. Horrible little bu**ars of 2 and 3...and then to cap it all the nursery fed me with dodgy food and I ended up with food poisoning.
