Scurra, get rid of these if you need to...
I often spot signs which make me laugh. So I thought I'd share this one with you...

- sign 25%.JPG (45.3 KiB) Viewed 1420 times
And this picture I took of a heading one of the teachers made all the kids copy at work...

- Whiteboard 25%.JPG (27.76 KiB) Viewed 1420 times
...Just in case you can't read that it says:
"Check out my newspaper reporting grid plan. I'm almost as clever as Miss Lawman, but I'll never be as pretty as her."

You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

I imagine they might remember that topic though! We had a maths teacher who liked to give work slightly ominous titles. One piece of work, I remember, was about percentages, e.g. if you let go of a ball at such-and-such a height, how high would it go on the first bounce, second etc. It was called 'Dropping balls'.

You haven't seen some of the other things we've had them write in their books!! In an effort to make them think about appropriate use of language, we had a phase of making them write things like
"A Cool Crytical Analysis of the Character of Shylock, Innit Blood."
I have a strong feeling that the top photo has been doctored by local uni students. It was taken at Gyllyngvase Beach in Cornwall.

I'm not sure which would be least likely - the sea monster or the flammable sand?

well i suppose that depends on your definition

would a gargantuan beast weighing 200 tonnes able to move at 50kph
regularly making noises about 180 decibels count as a monster?
and there are records of desert fires where the sand seems to be on fire
(usually gas or oil having made its way to the surface where the hot sand ignited it)

Now come on. I know I'm a fat bird and can be a bit loud, but I don't think you'd call me a monster...

Thought I'd share this one with you
When on holiday I saw a sifn in a shop window which said
Shoplifters will be painfully tortured before prosecution!!
Liked that - and whilst driving round kent and sussex - a few road signs
Joe's Lane!
Spotted cow lane!

Curiosity killed the cat But satisfaction revived it!!

Do you think Ashridge Estate sign writers need a dictionary?

Not quite a sign, but I saw a wonderful bit of graffiti on my train home last night:
Cherelle Cole is hot
Nice.
