Well everyone knows it's dangerous to tickle a sleeping dragon and therefore you should never do it!

(I assume you are still puzzling over the brainteaser)

Almost the only latin I can remember is 'parvus' which means 'small'. I was testing my daughter on vocab years ago and she was stuck on that so I picked up the smallest teddy in the room as a clue. Since then that teddy has been known as parvus. :D

 Love it.

Scurra- you'd better go and get one. You know how much you like all things to do with sheep...

...oh yeah, forgot, you don't drive. Never mind. Get one anyway and I'll drive it for you. 8-)

My daughter's friend, who is a year 3 teacher was discussing different jobs with her class. She had asked them to think of places people might work, and one of them had suggested "in the pub".

"Good", she said, "so can you think of some of the names of jobs people do in pubs?" (she was expecting barmaid, cleaner, chef, landlord etc.)

One boy put his hand up, all excited.

"Miss, Miss, I've got it. I've remembered what they're called!...

...alcoholics!"

OK I know this shouldn't really be on here, since it's what a teacher said but...

today, Janet was given a lesson plan from a science teacher. He said she should read it through and add anything she needed to before the OFSTED inspector came in. This is what he'd written...
"Mrs. X will be supporting pupil Y, who has a specific learning difficulty which affects his recording skills, and pupil Z, who has Asparagus Syndrome."

   Do you think he was calling him a vegetable?

 He claimed to be dyslexic... Still, at least he's not an English teacher.

I regularly have to pull teachers up on their spelling and punctuation. I'm not the best in the world, but compared to most of them I am!! I have a running joke with one of the history teachers. When I spot rogue and or missing apostrophes on the board, I wait until he's turned his back and sneak up and change them. The class is in on it and they think it's hysterical. Mind you, said teacher also tells the class that I'm his mum, or gets them to give me a round of applause for no apparent reason.

Ah, I'm sure they'd never notice, Clvrlad. Maybe you should be on the teaching side instead? I'm sure the kids would have an absolute blast! :D (Maybe not English though... ;) )
