I got within 40 miles of Birmingham when all they were showing was land-masses... that's as good as I can do in the car

Interesting game. My 'guesses' were surprisingly close (or 400 miles away). Where the heck IS Turkey anyway????

My worst was 967 miles away, but in my defense, it looked like an Italian word, it was in fact in Poland, and I still couldn't actually tell you what it was!

My worst booboo was misreading Milan as Madrid. The time limit mkaes me panic, even when I know where they are. I was 7 miles from Birmingham on landmass  , but then I'm a Brummie, born about 7 miles from the centre!

Here's a fun diversion.
http://web.mit.edu/~jmcmicha/www/globegenie/

Click the "shuffle" button and it takes you somewhere entirely random and then uses Google Streetmap to show you a picture of wherever it is you end up.
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.
All of my puzzles are simple and obvious. For certain values of "simple" and "obvious".

Thats quite good fun Scurra. :)

I was exploring an exotic beach in Taiwan, and then I shuffled and ended up inside a power station in Guatamala. Both were interesting to look at though :D

Blocks-with-Letters-on 3

For those that missed the previous versions, you should start with
Blocks with Letters on, which is hard, and then move on to
More Blocks with Letters on, which is harder. :)

My Mum asked if I had seen the TV programme Only Connect. (I hadn't) You can do it online, and it makes Scurras puzzles seem easy. really fiendish connections

 How did you manage to miss this conversation last time Giraffe? As I recall, Scurra had to admit to remembering all the connections from having seen the programmes!! (No, he's not sad AT ALL!!!*) Yes, it is really hard, isn't it? I think Only Connect is brilliant with all the connecting bit but don't like the missing vowels round.

I'm pretty sure that link has been on here before... :D
You might have guessed that I think Only Connect is the best quiz show on tv right now, because the questions are actually interesting rather than just a test of trivia knowledge.

...And Victoria Coren (?) is just so gloriously pedantic and anal. Can't think who she reminds me of...

I like the missing vowels round, I can do them! But I also like the connecting wall except it is annoying when they don't hear me shouting out a set of four as it would be easier to work out other sets with fewer options left.

I haven't seen the programme. I didn't know there were missing vowels. I don't think they are on the website.

Well, that makes a good potential team of three I'll send in to apply, shall I? :D

Do you know? It did actually occur to me that PB could have a team. But I'm not calm enough to do something like that under pressure. You could do it though, Scurra! :D
