Flipping heck Gill, you're really going for it,aren't you? I thought I would be good today and take in a banana to eat instead of biscuits in the staffroom. So naturally I ate the banana AND the biscuits...

 That's my trick as well... "Swap your chocolate treat for some fruit". I like fruit very much, but still scoff the chocs as well. [I've just polished off half a melon for my supper with some nice cheddar cheese]

I'm thinking I should get my teeth wired up. I could probably live for about 2 months on my natural reserves...

No, she'd have to get her hands wired up to stop that.
You're confusing a "writing" Bunny with a "talking" Bunny... :D

Good to see that Scurra has noticed how quiet I am in real life. I AM, honestly!!

Had a horribly busy day at work so now I'm collapsed in front of the TV. Has anyone else been watching the Carole king/James Taylor concert and spotted the Gandalf/Dumbledore lookalike in the backing group? :D

Well I was watching it, but missed Dumbledore. Damn. The good news is that it made me feel young. I didn't recognise some of the songs on there!

Whereas I could sing along to most of them.

I looked up Troubadour in wikipedia (the London venue) and there was a link to a page on a coffee bar/folk cellar where I used to work. Unfortunately it has been closed a long time now but it was lovely to see it has it's own page. :D That took me back!

I did (unfortunately) remember "Seasons in the Sun". What a rubbish song that was. I liked Joni Mitchell (I think she has a wonderful voice), that very young Elton John (with hair) and Neil Young though. Although apparently Neil Young doesn't like "Heart of Gold" even though it's probably his best known hit.

Aah, that was the earlier programme which I had to watch afterwards on i-player as the men in the house were watching the golf. Gandalf was on the later one with just CK and JT. Neil Young /Heart of Gold/Harvest are inextricably linked up with my 18th birthday party as I was given the albun for my birthday and we must have played it half a dozen times  That and the long line of empty bottles that someone had thoughtfully put along the drive to greet my mother when she returned home (having escaped to her sister's for the night!)

My Mum stated after my 6th birthday party "Right that's it. No more parties, ever." And she meant it. Any teenage parties had to be organised in halls, paid for and cleared up after by ME.

Well I must say that the only party either of my two have had here since the age of about 13 was my daughter's 21st. Which entailed a bouncy castle, pass the parcel, pin the tail on the donkey cake and jam sandwiches. She refused point blank to allow them to bring any alcohol, and they had a great time.

But then she is and always will be far more sensible than her mother...

did the donkey cake get destroyed after they'd pinned the tail on it?

.....watching the rain! OH has gone to the Ryder Cup today, and it has poured here all morning. I just hope it dries up there and he gets to see some golf. Looks like he's going to get very wet and muddy.

well there's certainly some play there today. He'll want to go again tomorrow, you know, as today's tickets are being accepted on the extra day they are having to fit all the matches in.
Must admit, I'm enjoying watching it and will be so frustrated only being able to follow it on text-commentry on the BBC while at work tomorrow!
