You're only given a little spark of madness. You mustn't lose it.

No, it would be foolish to murder the puzzle writer. We'd have no puzzles to moan about then!
Well...maybe....but amazingly there are regular direct trains from Newcastle to Exeter
How's about it Laddie? Take a trip to Devon and find - not just one but TWO crazy ladies waiting for you
(Not to mention a rabbit if she stopped off on her way to Cornwall....)
Let us know when you are all arriving. Devon could do with some livening up

I don't have hot flushes. I have short holidays in the Tropics.

Well, you may have a point there. But I suspect I may remain on a lot of people's hit list after my various (and possible forthcoming) contributions too...Laura wrote:No, it would be foolish to murder the puzzle writer. We'd have no puzzles to moan about then!
And Strep - I'd love to come and liven up Devon for you, although I expect it's quite lively with you around anyway!!!

Re: Men who talk to strange women on trains
St David's is the main inter-city station in Exeter at which all the trains stop, but is a little way out of the centre - as you say, it is an extra short trip to travel in to Central Station, (which is on the South West trains route from London Waterloo). It is also on the line which comes out to me at Exmouth - stay on the train after Exeter Central and enjoy one of Britain's loveliest train trips down along the Exe estuary, known as the 'Avocet line' because of all the seabirds that can be seen there.MBH wrote: I thought you were wrong till I realized that there was an extra 3-minute train ride being added on to get from St David's to the Central station.
And of course, with careful forward planning you could save even more on your rail ticket with advance booking......

I still haven't managed to find my way to Exmouth yet so I may have to have a practice run before going to play on the trains up north

Hejsa, Dramaticat - and yes, I know I'm rather late but my mind has been elsewhere a lot recently.
You may be wondering why I've greeted you in Danish. It's a long story, but I'll try to abbreviate it.
I joined the DVP Forum, with one login name. After a rant in Gadus (cod Latin, which I used a lot on DVP), I started giving names to different aspects of my personality, which eventually totalled twenty. I also added other login names, but that's another story.
After the demise of DVP magazine, I wrote the start of a story called 'Da Vinci Detectives' where twelve of the Forum members were duplicated and the duplicates had special abilities. I was one of them, and my duplicate was able to change into any of the sub-personalities, each of which had different language skills. Among these was the sub-personality 'Cenwulf' who was fluent in the Scandinavian languages.
When I joined Puzzlebrains, I selected 'Cenwulf' as my login name, for various reasons. As the 'DVTec' Cenwulf spoke Danish, I have greeted people with 'hejsa' ever since.
This is just a small part of my 'backstory'. Others have them as well, but not quite as weird as mine. You may be wondering just what you've let yourself in for, as we're all a bit crazy (and for some the bit is bigger than for others)! Don't let it worry you though - we're all fairly harmless.
Though I wonder if I should be included on Bunny's list of people needing to keep a weapon handy...

The poor girl has just run out screaming wondering what she's let herself in for

Dear Mr Optimist, Mr Pessimist and Mr Realist, While you were arguing about the glass of water, I drank it! Yours sincerely, Mr Opportunist.
