Well done Bunnylump. Now you can relax until issue 3 comes out (while staring at the fish out of the corner of your eye.

I suspect none of them are relaxing in front of that fish tank.... If nothing else, their PMs will be working overtime as everyone else bombards them for clues!

Congrats to all! and if I had time and energy to work out where I was stuck I'd be PMing you myself.

I have 11 answers, but am a bit clueless as to how to proceed. I have been avoiding it all day , so I think the time has come to ponder it a bit more closely.

So you don't actually expect any of us to solve this?

Why did you set it then?

At risk of baffling some other forum members, could I say "The Source" to you?

Yes, of course I expect it to be solved. I'm just not sure when, how or who. :)
Never put off till tomorrow what you can do the day after tomorrow.

On the other hand... the occasional 'hidden mystery' is not such a bad thing and will help to keep us hooked  Why should we expect to solve everything within a couple of weeks?

...Just as long as the occasional mystery doesn't develop into anything worse..... :o

Well done giraffe!

She picked me and fernando up from school this afternoon, and as soon as one of us mentioned puzzlebrains, she started grinning smugly like this:

(note: her face isn't really green)

Welld done Giraffe. You'll have to take kingsley word for her reaction because I was sitting in the back of the car but I can imagine what she would look like. Kingsley then said that she was still hoping of being the first person to finish the fish :!:  DREAM ON KINGSLEY ;)

Thank you all. I'm feeling quite satisfied that I came up with the method fairly quickly and painlessly. Turning it into an answer was hard work though.

A big thank you to Scurra for keeping a straight face when I ran my wild idea past him, I might have abandoned it if he'd laughed at me.
