You said the C word again. Shhhh

It's not for AGES yet. Although I did spot a great potential present for Scurra in the National Trust Shop at Ashridge today. It was a complete book of postcards with pictures of sheep on it. It was titled "beautiful sheep".

Well it was only the family get together this weekend that forced me to use the C word. (and I haven't done anything about the English nieces we'll see this weekend, because we might see them in December and it's not quite so expensive to post. )

They didn't have one called georgeous giraffes did they, that I can put on my wish list?

No, sadly not.And there wasn't even a "ravishing rabbit" pack either. I think I need to go off and design some...

....wondering how Scurra has been getting on this week. He just put up a general message about being away, but I think that friends (yes... I know that there are some of you out there....) may be interested to know that he has gone to Germany to a huge board games fair which happens every year for the purpose of promoting and sharing new board games. You may not know that this is one of his other interests and that he has succeeded in designing and developing a new game which is being marketed there for the first time (advance sales already well ahead of expectations :D ). Watch this space!
Sorry son, if I have blown your cover - you deserve the credit for the enterprise...

Cool! More details? I have a brother-in-law who's rather into board games, who happens to be a puzzlebrainer, and would probably be interested. He's not on the forums often though.

OK, I'm either going to buy Puerto Rico, or <insert name of Scurra's game here>.

Depends on what I know about the source which, ;)

Well done Scurra. Lets have the name of the game so we can put it on our Christmas lists please.

I've seen his game and it looks fabulous. I'm not really a strategy game sort of person, but I must say that the artwork is lovely. It's also got really cool little wooden playing pieces and a mix and match board. He sent me a picture of the front cover a while ago

And yes, it does involve sheep.

Ah, if I'd just waited, I could have saved myself some googling time! There's lots of pictures of the rest of the game if you google!

It's a brill game - and yes, I'd have to agree with Bunny, the presentation and all those little pieces are just wonderful.

It is certainly complicated - on a par with Porto Rico I'd say, but I reckon it'll join that game as a favourite amongst the boardgamers

Oh and Bunny, please don't give me mental images like that before you clarify!

OK - I'm going to put my hands up and say I though SparkOut was planning to buy a country  I've never heard of Porto Rico as a board game = however I can't really claim to play games like this

Best of luck to Scurra with his enterprise - he deserves every success.

I'm off web-slinging now to have a peep through Bunny's windows - I shot off so quick I only read the start of her post.

Are you fully dressed again now?

Not really today but.........yesterday I went up to London to meet my sisters. As it was my honorary birthday I was treated to lunch and given lots of small, mainly edible presents :D (I shall probably decide not to nibble on the fruity bath bombs though).
Afterwards, one sister and I went to the National Gallery to see the "Venice, Canaletto and his rivals" exhibition which I felt I had to see while it was all so fresh in my mind. And I could picture where almost all the paintings were done so little has changed in the last 250+ years. :D Mind you I must have bored my sister rigid with my running commentary.
