You can call me mean but I never let either of mine go Trick-or-treating. It always smacks of legailised blackmail. So I bought them extra sweets instead. And yes, they often had parties to go to so they could still dress up.

We rarely get anyone calling here either. It is quite a dark road with no street lights at our end so nobody usually bothers.

No mine were never allowed to go either and I refuse to answer the door. We only had 1 lot tonight and they nearly put the glass panel through on the door when I didn't answer.

Last year I bought a massive tub of sweet and got NO trick or treaters. This year I didn't get any sweets and got about 10 trick or treaters...

Funny you should say that 2 years ago I was so sick of them I attached a big note to say don't knock just take a sweet from the bag I put on the door handle and they were very good. Last year I did the same and we were still eating them at Christmas not one caller. This year I didn't bother.

The trick or treaters had no chance of my opening the door- I've been in pj's for a week after getting this dreaded cold thats going around. I rang the doctors this morning. I must be ill, the receptionist told me the doctor would ring me back as I sounded dreadful. Not helped by my lack of voice and having gone deaf too. He did, within minutes- and offered to have the chemist deliver the tablets to me and OH (he's had it 2 weeks now). Thats what I call service.

In the area of Spain my grandson is in they seem to have cracked halloween. He was more excited about Halloween than he gets about santa. The local pubs put on parties for adults and children alike, they all get dressed up, have their faces painted etc and there is no knocking on doors because everyone is out. The school built them up over the week, making their lanterns, spooky food etc. Sounded brilliant. If I can manage to hear him, I'll get the aftermath in a phonecall when he gets home from school.

Edit: I've just got to share this. Me and OH are sitting at the kitchen table and he's just written his name on his box of pills so they didn't get mixed up. Fine, good idea. Except his box is white with a pink stripe on it and my box is flourescent blue. Ever tried laughing and coughing at the same time. I thought I was going to choke

Get better soon Gill

...... moving offices 7 floors 2 different lifts, just 2 girlies and 2 trollies. 200 sets of notes, 14 boxes, and my colleague (who had all her stuff moved by top management on Friday as she would have kicked off when she knew the porters weren't going to do it) asking why we had't brought the fridge and her filing cabinet

 (To Gill) now that is spectacularly over cautious!! Hope you feel better soon.

To Strep - hot bath, nice shoulder massage?? ;)

I went back to work today having been up until 2am putting curtains up and getting my bed back in my bedroom. Not an easy gentle day back, just loads of problems which all needed to be sorted NOW.

Anyway, I've just been watching someone I know (Mel) on Come Dine with Me. :D

I saw my cousin Susie today for the first time in nearly 20 years. It was so lovely to see her!

We used to be so close, like sisters, but she moved to York. It was lovely to see her again. I've missed her.

I've only met my cousins about 5 times in my life and I haven't seen any of them for over 20 years.
