Has anyone converted curtains to Tab curtains - I have a set I wish to convert. I got an estimate from Remnant Kings and they wanted £85

I could buy a pair for that1

No, I haven't tried that - why do you want to convert them to tab curtains? If it's because you want a curtain pole rather than a runner, you can get rings with hooks on the bottom so that you can just attach those squirly fittings and just use the normal header tape. I know this because I've just bought a curtain pole for my bedroom...and the excellent bargain, lined, double width curtains I got from the sale in Marks and Spencer (for £38) can be used with it. :D

I have a habit of laying my left hand over my keyboard and scrolling with my right. That might be relevant.

I must be hitting something that windows 7 (or my new laptop) is sensitive to. My text suddenly becomes huge or tiny depending upon whether I'm scrolling up or down. The only way I get it back to normal is to go to view, zoom and select 100%.

Does anybody know which shortcut I'm hitting and if I can use the same shorcut to correct it? The alternative is a rope to tie my left hand behind my back and undo it when I need it for typing

YOU'RE HOLDING CTRL WHILE SCROLLING. And I've left caps on

Me too!

I'm always doing stupid things like that. I sometimes find I'm resting on something or other (still don't know what) which makes the computer beep and then locks the screen. The really annoying thing is that I can NEVER remember what it is I have to do to put it right and end up ringing my friend Brian (not snail) to set me right again. I have a terrifyingly rubbish memory.

I occasionally manage somehow to lock the accounts system at work when I am working in it. I now have a mini post-it note above my desk saying "if all else fails press esc key". to remind me what to do to release it

I wouldn't have know that one, as I'm far less mouse-based. My keyboard version of that is CTRL and + or - sign to do the same job.

Hopefully these people who press things but don't know exactly what they pressed and why are never put in charge of things like Big Red Buttons in the Whitehouse

I fear they are exactly the type of people who are put in charge of big red buttons.

Did you see that story that President Clinton lost the "nuclear launch" codes for about three years, and so if there had been a need to use themwe would have been in trouble... As usual, it was because he was too embarrassed to admit what he had done :D

Absolutely terrifying, isn't it?? :o The trouble with big red buttons is that they are TOO tempting. When we had major problems with our electricity supply a year or so ago they had a generator down the road, which had a giant button, labelled STOP. I suppose they needed it in case of emergency*, but naturally all the local yobs thought it was brilliant fun to keep pressing it. In the end we had so many power cuts that I was able to claim £50 back off our bill!!

*Although to be honest, my view on this is that if you're stupid enough to be fiddling with a giant electricity generator with big "keep out -danger of death" signs all over it, then you deserve everything you get...

PLEASE don't post links like that. I really ought to be working, not clicking 'random' for another comic.... (oh, and thanks, clvrlad, I did print that one out for my non-tech colleagues)

How do you sell something on ebay?

I saw someone on another forum saying they had sold something through Amazon. How does that work?

Anybody need a cross-trainer? OH bought this contraption and then about a year later decided he'd get more use out of an exercise bike.
