Just been to the dentist. Very traumatic and that was just the scale and polish. Also had a filling and that wasn't too bad!

The weather forecast for here says heay snow at 12 noon, but we have lovely clear blue sky.

well, everytime I look at the forecast it seems to change - we had heavy snow forecast for all weekend last night, now it's just white cloud...

On the way back from the show last night I had to detour past my dentists to drop my top set of teeth though their postbox (the new one I got after all the extractions). After a particualrly juicy but chewy bit of pork started a slight split in the plate a week ago, biting the head of a chocolate raindeer cracked part of the plate and 3 [false] teeth off the blasted thing :(

To make matters worse, the 'real' (but multiple filled) tooth next to it snapped off at the base over the weekend - so even if the denture is fixed I'll still have a gap

I've now spent 3 hours wrapping the presents ("Wrapping secretly, don't forget the label, Merry Christmas love from me")

No end in sight, still have loads to do. WHOSE bright idea was it to introduce WRAPPING PAPER?

No condolences please!!! Suzanne wouldn't want them. We've had a family and close friends xmas competition this year- in honour of our good friends girlfriend, Suzanne. (She died on December 3rd, cancer aged 37, 3 months to the day after she was first diagnosed). She was bright, bubbly and creative. No black at her funeral and all the girls had to use her trademark- one fingernail painted in a different colour to all of the others. She was also thrifty and very green minded.. This year, for those who knew her, we had a strict £15 per person budget, to include the card, wrapping paper tag etc. and the balance of what we would have spent is going to cancer research. Home made cards, amazon is great for stuffing boxes with free brown paper- I've made wrapping paper out of it with Daniels paints and stamps. Postie leaves loads of red elastic bands on our drive all year round. Nice bit of red sparkly stuff to make into a bow and job done. I think my best buy had to be a tk Max tote bag ( son's girlfriend got that) that had included a full size photo album, Neil,-(Suzannes boyfriend) got that, a mini photo album (complete with photo's for the witch from the north) and a scrapbook (grandson got that). Packets of flower seeds that I'd collected from the summer, mini jams and chutneys made from the remainder of the fruit still in my freezer from summer, thats apart from the 3 for £5 books etc and I had at least £5 each left per person. Son got a grow your own veggies in confined spaces book with his £5, his girlfriend got a soap making kit (she's a florist so can crush scents) + chocolates also bought buy 1 get 1 free from her spare £5. Amaqzing what you can do if you put your head around it.

What a great way to honour someone's memory. Well done!

When my sister was about to get married she and her fiance had a £1 limit on buying each other Christmas presents as they were saving up. They still managed to buy something thoughtful and saved a lot on what they might have been tempted to buy, and it was quite fun because it was a challenge.

We did a shoebox challenge one year, with a price limit (can't remember how much now), and just bought lots of little things - a pair of silly christmas socks etc. It was great fun opening them on Christmas morning, because you kept finding things you'd not noticed before.

Finally putting up our decorations. :D
I hadn't really appreciated how complicated it gets when you have to make sure everything is toddler-proof and above a certain height

and that certain height is nearer the ceiling than the floor, and that's not to mention his ability to climb on the furniture! Just remember to use unbreakable decorations lower down...

At home I have water and but no washer, its just blown up. At the caravan I have a washer but no water- I'm told there hasn't been any for 3 days and as its -9 then its going to have do some thawing quick.

At home I have no cooker, it decided to have a fire yesterday. At the caravan I have a cooker but no water to put in the pots.
It must be nearly xmas

I've just found a cooker online that has a dishwasher in it

How can a cooker have a dishwasher in it?

I have just braved the elements and done my supermarket shop, so they won't see me again until after Christmas. Good job I took a couple of assistants because we ended up with two trolleys. I have no idea if either mother will make it for Christmas now, and I had only been back about five minutes when I realised that I had forgotten to get any margarine to make the pudding for Christmas day. I was driving very slowly, much slower than everyone else, but there was snow on the main road, so I went at a speed I was comfortable with.

I have to go and fetch my goddaughter tomorrow as I am looking after her while her Gran's funeral takes place, I might walk to get her and go via the convenience store to pick up margarine.

It was MINUS 20 in Chesham last night (that's about 10 miles away). This is getting silly! Mum's cat has taken to pooing in the hall again  (but then with this much snow I'm not totally surprised, my cat's only been out twice since Saturday morning (I know that because I can see the paw prints outside).

I still can't get out of my drive or down my road.
